With such low route density you’d think a split rear load would be more economical. Do you do double route? Trash and then recycle?

Yea. It's absolutely inefficient like this. But I guess it's an issue with the contract and them not having enough customers.. this town waste connections has over 3k customers vs the towns 2500 and it makes no sense doing it in a FL... i disagree with doing it in a rear load. It should be done in a split side load. but this company will not buy one. it is what it is.

@@NashobaTrashTrucks rear load would be best imo with one guy foldup door- would have to move fast though. If there are two stops on a long street on each side might as well get them in one go is my logic. But I guess if it’s a lot of cul de sacs you’re gonna have to drive up and down anyways.

I definitely miss the side loader. This route isn't utilizing the FL efficiently so it kind of gives me a negative vibe. But I picked it up quickly and I run it as if I've been doing it for years.

Ahh I had one of these for 3 weeks with one of our new trucks, loved having that tarpee on windy days makes recycle easy still love the bucket on mine only a few years old and works good

i have to becareful with what i say.. but not a fan of how this system is set up.. the contract is for 2 trucks 1 trash 1 recycle but not even customers on the contract so they run 1 driver 2 trucks first run is trash second run is recycle. it takes about 3 days to fill recycle load of about 5 tons

In the state of Massachusetts they are provided food is removed and minimal grease. Most paper mills will accept them with some grease.

I can´t see any recycling. One 1h of putting mixed (plastic, glass, cardboard) trash in a trash truck.

Single stream is mixed recyclables... That's the point of it. If there is trash it is because people are stupid. It's a split truck for trash and single stream and it does what it was designed to do

Great video! Sure some recycling mixes into the trash, oh well! At least its not trash going the other way! What is surprising in this day and age. is that the majority of people being serviced on this route neatly bag their garbage, and the vast majority of the recycling is actually clean. I didn't see any half filled ketchup bottles, car batteries and electronics! You will always have the idiot that puts Christmas lights, dog food bags and furnace filters into the recycling. Keep up the great recording and hopefully the truck gets fixed one day.
