Very interesting love your video! Thank you. I feel the direction of our politics in this country is going that way. Get on board with the mob or else.

Did Maria and the Captain find love after they married since it was God's will? I loved how Maria described how they came to marry.
@kathleenlarson3733 күн бұрын
I believe he did. I read he was just a kind-hearted person. Maria had the drive to promote the family's singing.

What a beautiful tribute to the family!! I have been fortunate to meet Elizabeth Von Trapp several times and hear her sing at my church in Virginia. I even had her sign a painting I created just for the occasion of her first visit. It was, of course, an Edelweiss. Elizabeth is a beautiful singer and I have many of her cds. What a treasure of hope and inspiration this family is and continues to be for all of us. An example of what life can be when faith, love, and hope are at the center despite all challenges. I definitely need to visit Vermont!!

Marie was a wicket mum very controlling controlled the 10 kids, maybe because she beaten daily by her uncle, where she ran away at 15, the mum never allow the kids to mix out side socially, she was rebel strong women though, the dad was gentle man, Maria was a bully to him also, when he died she felt guilty for treating him very bad. Sound of music all twisted Americanised. It was all money power. Kids had it tough it definitely wasnt a bed of roses. ❤

That was fascinating to watch! I learned so much. Thank you for this glimpse into the true Von Trapp family. My question; Maria spoke of a small graveyard on the land, are the rest of the family buried there as well?

Interesting I never found you. The fact i type my last name in and didn't find you, only that hockey player and Richard Vanek the painter, Jac Vanek punk singer. I really dislike the fact this is evidence of tampering with peoples ability to earn a living. Think about this band trying to make it. UnCOOL!!!! I just saw a dude vanektheband, NEVER, in all the years of YT, they never appaer. Sorry to interrupt. You a Bohunk, or Czech. Im Bohunk.

Wonderful story and good to know that Maria Von Trapp came to Papua New Guinea and settled in Alotau, Milne Bay Province. She helped to write the Catholic Hymn Book in the local Suwau language. Thankyou Maria for your contribution to the people of Milne Bay. PNG. 🙏❤

Thank u so much. I was in Salzburg in the 80’s & thought how beautiful it was! Loved The Sound of Music movie as a forever movie for everyone to see. The real Maria VonTrapp was oh so lovely & sweet. My love’s father was a professional golfer & retired to Stowe, Vt & was golf pro there & he knew Maria after the Captain had died. He & my love’s father had some dinners Maria cooked at the lodge.

Jesus Christ, the thrill of hope, for a sick, hurting, and weary world-Romans 10:9-10 from the Bible: “That if you confess with your mouth the LORD Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart man believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation.”

I wish she would have talked about the whistle and peoples’ misconceptions bc of the movie. People think the captain was so overbearing and blew the whistle to exercise military control over the family. In Maria’s book and maybe Agatha‘s book they talk about how the whistles were used because the grounds were very large, and it was more convenient than yelling to try to find someone. He was a kind and gentle man according to the family. But I sure enjoyed this presentation, it was very well done and she was very engaging. Thank you!!

My wife and I detested this book. The author makes the Renaissance characters sound like extras from a Quentin Tarantino film. One woman in the novel leers at a male, in the same way that the millennial males leer at young girls. A disingenuous piece of trash.

I just read *On Freedom*. In my CT community we just elected our Rep foe the 22nd District, a nurse. Healthcare and health is central to her program going forward. I also agree about knowledge of the past, as a key to understanding now and envisioning the future. Thank you so much. Finally, I grew up near Hudson, Ohio - in Mantua, and attended Kent State University.

I took health and health insurance for granted for SO MANY years and then my husband got very sick and I was laid off, then I got deathly sick but still had to work for insurance and for years insurance has been such an enormous issue. It is an issue that has kept me awake related to this election. It has cost us so much money and grief and we had worked so hard to take care of ourselves. I would love to see universal healthcare here. But I am going to read this book because I agree freedom is so multidimensional and now I’m fascinated. I have watched so many of your videos and love your work. Thank you.
