I feel like the toyota and the vw engine should be both one tier higher and the mazda engines both one tier lower. In reviews it was often said that the mazda engines are good for cruising but not sporty at all and can feel stressed easily under pressure. As you also took into account in what cars these engines are used.. fhe mazda engines are all in boring suv's. The vw engine is in sportscoupes, cabriolets, porsche shooting brakes and other exciting cars.

Even if the Nissan engine is a better tuner platform (not sure about the Alfa one cuz it's just not as widely used as the Nissan one for such a task), the Alfa Romeo engine sounds so much better that it's not even funny... VR38 doesn't have anything on the 690T when it comes to sound!!

Interesting video, but many of the points are subjective / qualitative rather than objective / quantitative. To be transparent, I own a BMW with an S55 engine, so I have a bias. Is a 2JZ built from all aftermarket parts still a 2JZ? If you're changing many or all of the parts to aftermarket, it's not fair to compare it with a stock S58. The S58 block is aluminum, which is much lighter than cast iron, but you didn't give it credit for that. It's relatively easy to get 1000HP from an S58 with excellent reliability and drivability.
@user-vw1vf5cw7dАй бұрын
He has a point this was an excellent presentation presenting facts...the only point that he really missed is that the 2JZ is physically bigger and much heavier

Great video JLT 👍👍 how much do these go for in China? You can tell me in RmB and I can convert, I was just curious because for years in the US these have been very low/reasonably priced with many in the $4000-$10000 range. AMG cars are around $8000-$20000, which is considerably lower than original msrp. Would be cool for you to make sone videos talking about cars people like in China and differences like how coupes are more expensive used (same here but not to the same degree)

Hey, this is a really good video tutorial, great work. I have 2 questions. 1. where can i find that aluminium repair kit. google didn't help me 2. did your keyless go work with the incorrect door lock? auto unlock when you plache your hand on the door handle, and lock when you push the lock button on the door hendel (key in pocket )? I have a part car with Soft-Close and my daily have only keyless go (the programing is no problem)
@drjltoncars55753 ай бұрын
I found it in China. There must be someone selling these on eBay or Aliexpress, but I haven't looked. Interesting that you asked about KG: my KG was not working but started working after this fix. Apparently, there's a tiny short on the connector to the driver's door handle. Yes, KG works just fine. Just have to wait a second for the vacuum unlock.

Your used W220 has so many problems as you have stated in China. When you purchased a used W220, all bets are off as it will give you countless problems from the vehicle itself. I still own (as an original owner since 2005 in California) 2005 S500 W220 without any problematic issue like the one are having. It run smoothly when you perform proper maintenance on oil changes, replacing engine and cabin air filters, replacing power steering fluid and coolant plus getting brand new rotors and brake pads with four new tires. Airmatic and soft closed door work perfectly as of today.

Thank you for a great report from your experiences with your lovely W220! I have had the pleasure of owning an S320 from the year 2000, for 4 years. It has 160 000 km on the odometer. The car has never had a single issue; the previous owners (and I) have maintained it very well. I must say that I love the car, from the appearance, to the road holding (the AIRMATIC is fantastic when it works), the interior and the over all high comfort. The W220 has in my opinion an undeserved bad reputation (it is of course an advanced vehicle, and it is essential to keep it well maintained).

@@drjltoncars5575 as long you don't have a fault code and the key has the keyless go sensor in it, then it most likely are the key track. you can choose between 1 - 8. try one number at the time and see if it work (remember to turn off the ignisjon and theke the key out, after you have switch the key track) edit: if your key fit 2 batteries then it doesn't have keyless go funksjon, do to the lake of Space in it. only keys that have 1 battery have the keyless go funksjon (smartkey)
