@@oldex6564 Well done, enough so that I think you can do even better. You might want to think up a specific voice for each faction for immersion & attention grabbing. You're clear, concise, and well....flat. (Awesome voice for scientific or technical readings, but lacking impact for entertainment reading.) P.S. You'll do better sending 1 chapter excerpts from the actual novels you want to do directly to Black Library, along with an offer to do it as a regular hourly job. (Working "for hire" is important, I doubt they'll want to share IP & copy rights, although you might negotiate a trickle of royalties into the wage.)

This was the edition of Codex Tyranids I remember most fondly as it was so granular, giving you the nittiest of gritty Gribbly options to create any biomorphic army your hive-mind desired. It must have been a total tournament melter though because the next codex took all that fun away. Thanks for reading through all of this. Was a trip down genetic-memory lane.
@oldex65644 ай бұрын
Glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, it gives great scope for conversions, and I love that example creatures have their own names and flavour text.
@DaveTheCrowe4 ай бұрын
Your Audio descriptions of some of the technical weapon diagrams and other lore-heavy bits like the diagrams of Tyranid genetic strains have been really good. And the flavour-text from some of the army list entries combined with the special rules is also worth hearing. The stats, figures and points values from army lists might be best contained in a dedicated episode. Clearly labeled for ease of identification.
@oldex65644 ай бұрын
Thank you. Yeah, doing special stats shows, perhaps to cap off each season, is what I'm learning towards at the moment. Glad you like the verbalisation of diagrams, etc! Those take the most work, figuring out how to translate them into audio.
@boxnaught74284 ай бұрын
I enjoy lore more than stats, but that's purely personal preference. I can see how stats in a way could add more flavor by being able to compare and contrast with other models. Giving extra depth to the strength of weapon and equipment. But it could also be a little jarring going from the wonderful lore of a models to suddenly numbers and statistics. 🙂 Maybe do a test run and see how it plays out and flows.
@oldex65644 ай бұрын
Thanks for the input. Yeah, that last Tyranids episode might be a fluke, so it'll be best to trial it a bit more as I get deeper into this codex and closer to the rules and stats. Someone told me an idea might be an idea to separate the stats out into their own episode, as they found themselves quite enjoying it in the Shipping Forecast/ASMR way I described in this episode, so that might be the way to go. Some content might be doubled up, but that was the in people who just want the lore will not miss out on any, should it be enmeshed with a rules mechanic.

9:20 Hey, it's a parallel to the present canon about what got the 'nids coming: an archeotech facility on a forgeworld was destroyed in battle during The Heresy, producing a flash in the Warp much brighter than the whole Milky Way combined. ...and this resemblance to the death knell of a Norn Queen makes sense with the latest lore that the Hivemind is driven by hate, not just hunger.
