Ed Ruscha (pronounced like Russia) is a very famous artist from the Pop Art movement and his work is often quite minimalist and a famous portfolio of his are his "word paintings." So, in that context, that album art totally makes sense..... as a Tupac re-issue collab though?.... not sure I really get it. I just don't feel like Tupac and Ed Ruscha's artistic visions have much crossover.

The story with I Am is this. The album was supposed to be a double disc record, obviously telling Nas' from the beginning. Hence, The Autobiography. Some songs from the album got bootlegged. Back in the 90s when shit got bootlegged, it more than likely would negatively impact sales. So a lot of songs were taken off of the album and new songs were recorded. That's how we ended up with the '99 version. Now this RSD edition is NOT the albun as it was originally intended. From what i've heard. This was the tracklist from the bootleg that spread around in '98. Let's not forget, it was supposed to be a double disc album and 13 tracks are not cutting it. The shit is even shorter than the official one. Nas also didn't have a saying in this release, probably wasn't even consulted cause he's not the copyright holder to that music. Sony/Columbia just wanted to profit off of Nas' new found fame with the King's Desease and Magic trilogies. And that's why we ended up with this lame incomplete RSD pressing.

@@jithe3rd They have to since they were the ones who put out this I Am RSD drop. Something as hugely disappointing as this can only come from a major. They don't care what they put out as long as it makes them money. I highly doubt that Nas himself would want this album to be released in an incomplete form - again!

just got done watching the movie city of lies (2018). have you seen it? its about who killed biggie. johnny depp and forrest whitaker do decent job. lots of good info. in the movie it says suge had cops working for him. the reason deathrow wanted biggie dead is because they didnt want bad boy and biggie to come up and dominate now that tupac was dead. thats why they ordered the hit. the cop that deathrow got to make the hit was a blood David Mac was his name. however cops protected him because then wallace's family would make billions in a law suit and bankrupt the city of los angeles. supposedly the cops pinned the murder on another blood member Wardell Fouse instead.

so diddy actually ordered a hit. if tupac hadnt stuck his head out of the car to talk to those girls he wouldnt have died that day. him beating up orlando(keefe's nephew) is what made them do it that exact day. also the crips were already a bit mad from tupac's hit em up song. "if you down with bad boy then fuck you too" definitely didnt think pdiddy was so slimey. pdiddy and and suge is the reason biggie and 2pac are dead. diddy hated suge from that source awards 1995 diss. and then diddy hated tupac after he said the first time he was shot was biggies fault then made the hit em up song. crazy they thought suge got shot in the head and was dead. suge lucky as hell.

i remember like 3 or 4 months ago i did a deep watch of all your videos because we have very similar taste in rap. i think we are around the same age ...im 43 and we are both mexican american...maybe thats why? anyway i sampled all the stuff you showed. i wrote down like 24 albums to buy! sometimes i didnt like the album you showed but i liked the artist and i listened to their other albums and thats the one i would like. sometimes the album you showed was also the one i liked. i already bought 14 of the 24 albums but the other 12 are not on vinyl...only CD!...so i have to wait for those whenever they come out on vinyl. just want to say i appreciate your channel. it made me realize my fav rap genre is gangster rap. im thinking thats your favourite too?...never could find anyone to recommend me the rap you show on your channel so thanks man.
