I feel like this is the only scene until Simm was reintroduced in the Capaldi era that really made the most of his talents. The performance was over the top, shallow and to me trying too hard to be funny and didn't come off besides, which is a shame because this scene and his later involvement really showcased that Simm had the capacity to bring much more to it. Just a personal opinion

I find it interesting how they're having an almost friendly civilised conversation until the Master's need for conquest takes over and he devolves into drumming. It almost feels like the Doctor could have talked him out of it for a few seconds

Such different actors yet you can still feel the presence of Pertwee and Delgado, Davison and Ainley within their performances. Great scripts, written by fans, performed by proper actors. Elite.

This gave me CHILLS. I'm new to Dr. Who and I LOVE JOHN SIMM from previous works, when I started the series with the 10th doctor I LOVED David Tennant, so seeing to actors I adore and admire in this ACTING CLASS is EVERYTHING.

I love how scared Simm's Master is of the Time War and the Daleks. Considering what this guy's capable of, it just make the Time War and the Daleks seem that much scarier if they can elicit such a reaction from such a horrible person.

What always gets me about this scene is that the Doctor's response to the Master saying "you must have been like God" is "I've been alone ever since." It shows the Doctor's character so well in contrast to the Master's and is a quiet underscore of the loneliness the Doctor constantly suffers from. He doesn't feel like a God, he just feels alone.
