@ReactorLaboratories I can’t tell you what to buy, but in my opinion, the Radiacode you already own is probably better. It’s way faster and has a bigger crystal.

he forgot to mention the radon risk wich is high depiste the isolation in the plastic cube. The more uranium ore you have the more radon you'll get. You will have to have a radon detector and ventilate the collection often. Also dust from uranium ore when you manipulate the minerals are a big risk too (that why we keep them into sealed bags or boxes.)

The material there is not plutonium-239, but a reactor mixture of different plutonium isotopes.

Il n'y a pas de minerai specifjque de radium, on le trouve dans le minerai d'uranium et ses composés, je le sais puisque je fait des spectres de mineraux uraniferes avec le Radiacodec103. On a aussi du thorium, et bien d'autres.

I worked retail camera sales in the late 1970s and we sold these. A bit pricey. If I recall, the Po strip was originally red speckled. They were OK, but a little breath on a lens also disperses static.

i was testing.. you can turn off the speaker with the play/pause button.. but does the alarm still goes off? foe example you would to keep turn on the geiger teller.. it peeps whole day long.. when pressing the button the speaker is turned off.. now iam wondering does the alarm overrule that setting when there are dangerous levels measured?

Huh... I am very sceptical of ADI sources in RID-6m containing Cesium-137. To prove that I ran 13 different sources at once on my Atom Spectra Nano3 (7% CsI), no peak on 662 keV whatsoever

there is no radium ore : its a uranium ore sample as Ra226 is part of the decay chain of uranium. So radium is found in any uranium ore.
