As I understand it the house - known as the 'Green House ' or the 'Japoanese Administrative Building' -was the offices of the Japnese Commandant of Sime Road Internment camp from May 1944 until the Japanese surrender in August 1945.

Very brave of you to go over that rickety wooden bridge. That's quite cool to see it from your perspective and the drone shot.

Sorry to hear about you getting knicked by the truck. When in rome do as the Roman’s. Big goes first, North American rules of right of way will get you killed there. Re:google maps, if you have enough time the night before i would suggest looking at the route in satellite mode, to see the road quality before you head out. Glad you got off 1A it’s a death trap.

Hey Jeff - what did you end up getting re: Motorcycle? It seems to eat up the hills pretty well - did you get a 110/125/250? I'm inspired to re-do the ride for the 3rd time after watching your videos.

Hi Jeff, thank you for sharing your journey with us. I am tentatively planning a similar trip end of June 2022 through July (my in-laws are coming to stay for a couple of weeks... definitely a good time to travel 😀). Looking to do the following legs; Ho Chi Minh to Dalat, drop down to Mui Ne, coast road to Hue - jump on the Ho Chi Minh Trail, Head off to Nam Dinh - than finally Hanoi If possible, it would be amazing if you could share a link with the following: 1. Google Maps Route you are traveling 2. Itinerary 3. Recommended stops to stay the night, particularly when you are traveling to Dalat, and when you are on the Ho Chi Minh Trail... Travel safe... looking forward to watching more of your videos. Warm regards - Aaron

Hi Aaron, The route I am following is pretty much what Jonathan Pepper / Tigit motorbikes has mapped out. He has a ton of good information on his youtube channel. kzbin.info%C3%ADMinh/featured All i did was look at his routes and decide what was good for me . . .

Great video - hopefully the hawkers at the old military base weren't overly annoying trying to sell "relics" from the war. The Ho Chi Minh trail is pretty deserted; running out of gas there could be very inconvenient + the ups and downs of the mountain passes does a job on fuel economy. Make sure you're running a full tank as much as possible.

How much was the bike rental from Tegit? Did you have to give them your passport or was it just a deposit?
@jeffjones9212 жыл бұрын
Hi - you can check out the prices on their website; I paid the standard rate for the XR. I did not leave them my passport. www.tigit.com
