Nice work Bob. I first saw Cheap Trick in 1978 at the Leroy theater, Pawtucket, R.I. They opened for Ritchie Blackmores Rainbow, with Ronnie James Dio at the mic. I was tearing apart the guitar parts on the Heaven Tonight album at that time. Best wishes for you.

Back again, listened many times, end of many hard days at work, this is balm. Performance for the ages of a great tune.

I adore Berlin, such a liveable city. I’m a tad envious of Bob, though his life sounds similar to mine, but in London

New Day Rising needs to be remastered and re-released. Could you imagine those songs with the appropriate production?

Sure does bring back memories. I was 16 working at the National Record Mart in the Shenango Valley mall, making weekly payments on a 1974 fender P bass I had in layaway and no idea how to play it. But I was sure I could learn and these guys influenced the heck out me. Bob still has his voice and chops. Oh how I yearn for teenage angst.

True about the chords! A few pals and I learned this song a decade ago to play at a punk night, and it's got several twisty core transitions between parts. Certainly not your E-C#m-A-B song.

What I loved about Husker Du...besides the name which I thought was super cool....was the fact that they were kinda hardcore and melodic as well...there was hardly any bands that could blend both of those types sounds together and still sound awesome...but Husker Du was the best at it...I wish I had had the chance to see them live.

Same. It’s a song that’s not about anything fun, but there’s a sheer joy in the cathartic release of energy and artistry. It’s what some music can do that is difficult to get anywhere else.

For those of you who don't think Dave Grohl is adding any guitar parts during the chorus, he is providing 100% of the jangle chords.
