The Shadowlands shadowboxing is new, I noticed, to enter the Oubliette. Is there a detailed description or image for the setup point out yet?

It is something I came up with and has only been done a few times, so not a huge need for a detailed description. It is very lenient tbh, I just move camera down 2 angles, move camera back right all the way it can go and then place the cursor to the left of that object. It's a fairly wide range, so just copying that a few times and you'll have it.

Speedrunners have had this solved for quite some time. Categories for different runs.

This seems like a good idea at first, but I've seen firsthand if categories are too similar runners just gravitate towards one of the two and keep that competitive and the other one dies with like 2 runs in it. It's definitely an option, but if a category split happens just from one piece of tech I can almost guarantee it won't be played.

This is the type of glitch that often divides glitch speed running categories into two, with either a separate “limited glitches” category or “no x glitch” category. This is done often o preserve the community to keep people that might otherwise leave the scene due to a glitch they either don’t have fun performing or otherwise. Might be an acceptable compromise if it is actually that divisive

Tbh it's impressive but it just looks... Bad to watch. I think that it should probably be its own category. With the majority of acts 1 and 2 skipped using this method, that's a significant chunk of the run that's just going to be watching setup to stare at someone's desktop background (and a majority of the run if you're going just for the credits you can get in act 2).

honestly i wanted tot ry speedrunning the game, but all speed runs are SO BROKEN it rly takes the fun of the game out of me. I would love for a category that doesnt allow any non intended interactions in the game. Completing the game as fast as possible without breaking the game.

There are actually runners doing All Acts No Major Glitches. As of a few months ago the route was about an hour and a half, now its down to something like 40 minutes. It's not an official category yet, but you can join the crpg discord or run it yourself and maybe it will be one day.

There are just a few runners going for the category, the WR has been broken maybe 5 times in the last few weeks or so

It's definitely an interesting concept that personally I don't like the idea of as I'm not a big fan of glitches or some tricks that require 3rd party programs etc in "normal" speedrun categories, although I assume this would be in a glitch category in which case sure why not push the game to limits and have fun. I'm a big fan of speedrunning in games where you could simply go to a friends house for example, boot up their computer with that game for example and pull off the speedrun depending on how rng the game is. Minecraft is a terrible example of this although I obviously love it regardless.

thx for the vid swagz tech seems lame. any% only. doesn't really compare to mc imo. you shouldn't be able to make use of clicks outside of the game window
