Way too much trouble. Never had a clog yet that didn't get flushed if I held either end to a water spigot. Helpful tip is to keep the exit end as high as the spigot and let the hose fill with water, then drop the exit as you quickly raise the other end and walk it toward the exit. Only rarely have I had to repeat in opposite direction.

Hi Earl. Thanks for posting the tip. I have cleared cloggs with water in the past. The only issues are that the water can be messy, doesn't work well in sub zero temps , and isn't useful for cleaning the booms and pvcs lines.
@hattrick257

That itself is wayyy too much trouble and mess of water. Not everyone has a hose close by to their vacuums. I have seven spreads over 100 Feet. And hose and water does not work when the temperature is below freezing. The dryer vent kit is the best way for sure.

Some people have concerns about soft touch washes, and that is understandable. Being able to accurately describe how your wash works is essential for quelling concerns and gaining business. Unfortunately when people are commenting online, they often approach the situation like children. Oh well, every comment gives me another chance to talk about my wash.

@davindertoor409
@davindertoor409 8 жыл бұрын
Dan. Thank you for your comment. We take pride in the way we wash cars. We wash about 100k cars a year. We do not harm the paint. In fact, Touchless car washes use chemicals that are far more dangerous to factory clearcoats than we do. This is because they must literally melt the dirt off. If they are not collaborated precisely, they can burn the car. Our cleaners on the other hand are far more mild and by pre-spraying the car before it goes through ensures that large dirt particals that may cause scratching are removed.

However all those brushes do leave little scratches all over the car even if you go through it once however most people will go regularly so after a few times look at the paint in the sun and you will see lovely swirl marks everywhere. I have experienced it first had when my dealership put my car through one of these after I specifically told them not to. My paint was close to being perfect (car was only a few months old) and I had recently polished it and put cquartz coating on it myself. After it came out I could see all the small scratches the only good thing out of this is that most of those marks on my paint are probably in the cquartz coating so i will be able to easily polish it out in the spring time

bryanviper Thank you for you comment. It is worth noting that some car washes are built by professional car washers and others are put in simply to provide an added service. When dealerships put in car wash equipment, they get the most basic units they can find, normally spending between $30k and $60k. They also don't care for the equipment the way we do, because it was inexpensive and more importantly, it is not their main business. Our wash, like many other high quality facilities, are investments of millions of dollars. We make our living by doing one thing and doing it well... washing cars. We use high quality lubricants, sophisticated materials, and trained employees to ensure our customers get a high quality product. I am sorry you had a bad experience with a particular wash, but it is not indicative of all washes in general.

lol yea ok, The brushes may be relatively soft however what about all the dirt on the brushs after washing a few cars? You think ever spec of dirt is washed off with water? Yea good luck. There is a very good reason why professional detailers always avoid these kind of washes. They do leave scratches and do cause damage. Its just that most people don't notice it or dont care. But its funny that you think its safe on the paint where just drying a car by hand with the proper drying method can cause minor marks you dont think this will LOL!

Funny, carwash named to sound prideful for America (American Carwash) washing a German Audi probably belongs to the owner who named the carwash, Ironically deceptive.

Thank you for your comment. We do take pride in our country as we do in our wash. To expect American Car Wash to only wash American made cars seems a bit silly to me. Even if the German car were driven in by a German person, we would still wash it.

Hello Dan. Thank you for your comment. It is true that large dirt pieces scrapping across your car can scratch. This is why at American Car Wash, we prewash every vehicle with a high pressure hand prep rinse. This removes the large loose dirt that can scratch the vehicle. The truth is, that any wash that is not properly maintained can harm your vehicle. For instance, touchless car washes like you find at gas stations have to use very strong acids to melt the dirt off, since no friction is used. If not properly calibrated, these chemicals can easily destroy a car's clear coat. Best to go with a professional car wash operator that knows how to clean cars safely.
