What a wonderful documentary about this intelligent young man and his parents. I recently watched his explanation about the Cadenzes of the 5 Beethoven concerto's. Such a wise explanation👍🎹🙏 Hope I will get the oportunity to hear him in our Amsterdam concert hall.

Lol, yes. Music presents such an unlimited and expansive background for expression. I must be careful of my judgments. Justin has provided much beauty and passion thru his music apart from the more commercial endeavors. Canada also gave us Michael Bublé and David Foster, among many others. But apples and oranges cannot be compared very well now, can they?

no wonder Jan gave such an incredible performance and recording with St.Martin Orchestra on Beethoven's No.3 Concerto. I had no idea he had been playing this piece since he was a kid!!!

Dear Jan: Greeting from Colombia, once more! Words are clumsy, and elaborte sentences are futile to translate what I feel listening to Chopin, through your marvelous performance. Perhaps the metaphor poetic language would help a little bit: When your mother was pregnant of you, didn´t an angel come down to tell your mother: "The coming child will be Chopin¨s channel"? I know know how an angel looks like!

No matter how great the pianist is, this piano is not in its prime condition; and it makes Jan sound like a conservatory year 2 student. But give him a Fazioli or Steinway or Bosendorfer, Jan is already one of the greatest pianists of his generation.

Bravo. Why didn't you write the name of the orchestra and the conductor? It's very important. They are a part of your perfomance.

I'm so glad I discovered Lisiecki, some pianists I like for their aggressiveness (Volodin is my absolute favourite), some for their charisma (Trifonov) and in Lisiecki I like his sensitivity and gentle style.

During the 9 soul-destroying years i spent in a piano store, I heard this piece played dozens of times, on instruments better than this Yamaha, but with less finesse and emotion. Jan restores the piece to its rightful place.

The young man says he does not want to be called a prodigy, so what does the news man call him? A “reluctant prodigy”!!! STOP it. Because he asked you not to do it! Control yourself, Canada. This kid is a delight, works hard, has a great talent and is a deep musician. Respect that, and don’t try turning him into a freak - like you did with Glenn Gould.
