I shot a buck from three yards away sitting on the ground in pa archery . I don’t like heights so ground hunting is my only option. Watch the wind direction and setup accordingly. If you hunt where there are big trees the trees can be used as blinds. Clear leaves all the way around the tree and when a deer comes in put the tree between you and the deer.

The orange doesn't matter,deer are colorblind,movement means more than color and human scent is the most important..I've killed deer in blue jeans and my work shirt..meaning if your still,have the wind in your favor you can wear whatever you want,plus the man is sitting on the ground and being smart having his orange especially if he's on public land

Orange hat and vest is for your own safety. Without it an idiot might mistake you for an animal and shoot.😎

I had a friend who was bowhunting from a tree stand. An armadillo was fidgeting around under his stand making lots of noise. He decided he would shoot at the armadillo and scare it off. Unfortunately he hit square in its back, the arrow sticking him to the ground. It did not kill him and for the next 30 minutes the armadillo was running in place making twice the racket as before. Needless to say my friend abandoned that stand for the rest of the day.

Hunting is more than killing. It's the sounds, smells, and experiences of nature. It's nice to score a nice deer, but I've had squirrels run right over top of me. An owl landed about 5' over my head once, I watched him for about 10 minutes, then made a sound like a mouse. It's head anapped around, and it bored holes through me, trying to figure out what I was. I had a flock of turkeys come through. I could hear them long before I saw them. When I finally did see them, I wasn't sure if they were turkeys or dogs. As they got closer, I could make out what they were. They tear the woods up, looking for grubs and bugs. The landowner asked me why I didn't shoot the whole lot of them. He said they are bad for farmers and run off the grouse and other game animals.

Do you have a Bible study we can download? Thank you
@edooutdoors3166 күн бұрын
I don't use any study guides. I have paper bibles but now use the bible mobile app by YouVersion. If you have any questions I'd love to help. You can email me if you like. If you want to listen to a preacher, I'd suggest Billy Graham sermons, they're all over youtube.

99% of “deer” heard by hunters are squirrels, birds, or armadillos. 😂

Why to buy camo if u wear orange vest 🤔
@criticalhitz4817 күн бұрын
Happens to the best of us bud! Learn from it and adjust! I would try and find a thicker spot with a little more coverage.. (for example: a little pack of trees, with some little cedar/cypris trees growing around em).. Also, don't jerk your head when you hear something close by.. Break that habit! But you want to start turning your head very slowly to where you are almost barely moving! (Slow Motion) It can be a difficult habit to break, but trust me, it will save you from spooking a lot of deer in many of your upcoming sessions in, "the woods." God Bless! Be safe out there! Happy Thanksgiving!!

Deer can’t see orange, so it’s to alert other hunters in the area to not shoot in your direction. It’s also required by law to wear something with hi viz orange. Some wear vests, but I just wear a Beene.
