This song always reminds me of a dear friend that passed away in 1996. We loved this song. We were lip synching before it was a thing!!

I remember watching Solid Gold on Saturdays at 7:00pm on WSJV channel 28 in South Bend, IN for 5 of the 8 years in Dowagiac, MI, I left Michigan in 1986, so I didn't see the end of the series in Victorville ( where I originally stayed up there at the time ). And let's not forget that this year is the 45th anniversary of SG, and to go toe to toe with American Bandstand and Soul Train on Saturdays was a feat in itself. I guess the memories were, shall we say, GOLDEN, after all. Thanks for preserving these moments, countdowns, and the dancers for all to see and reminisce!

This was a very powerful love song when it came out all my friends loved it we were all 8-12 years old. I wonder how many women today would admit being attracted or in love with an older guy at some point in their lives in that era
