Honestly I don't see why Sega doesn't just buy the Monogatari franchise from Compile Heart at this point instead of trying to erase or forget the old character's lore ever happened. The RPG, as it is right now, is almost completely separated from it's origins (for obvious reasons) and Sega makes more than enough money from the popularity of Puyo Puyo in Japan alone, and don't tell me it doesn't because you don't just make an Esports version of your puzzle game out of the blue just because you feel like it.

Majority of the music is from various other albums and misc CDs. The only original stuff is the character select, Memories (Euroversion), and the stage clear. Puyo Puyo and Hip House Compile Classix are remixes from other places. So this is future me coming to update on that Name Entry song: "Let's Play the Game!" or Let's Try to Game!" according to a really obscure single. Because of course. :p Unsurprisingly it's very difficult finding it, but the other track "Heartbreak" or "Sadden Heart" can be found on Sun DX Album. More or less mystery solved! Over 10 years I had the name right the first time. :^)

It's a shame the n64 version sounds so horrendous. It really didn't have to sound this bad despite the limitation though... I think they just didn't put in enough love and care to fine tune the intrumentation choices etc.

Puyo Puyo is just a Japanese spinoff of a Western Property known as "Kitsy Cat"

You forgot to mention that she originated from Kitsy Cat and was known as "Silvana" and the design is pretty different as it looks Westernized and she appeared in 4 Kitsy Cat cartoons.

Just a tiny complaint, pls don’t take it personally, I’d recommend you use more gameplay clips in the next vids cause some of the clips kept repeating and it was a bit tiring

We really need more Puyo stuff like this, the amount of effort that went into production here needs to be rewarded better. I know Puyo these days is a big niche, but still. Amazing video for game I’ve never played! Also you did mention that Puyo~n’s gameplay style hasn’t really been analysed and I wonder if sometime I could have a go at it when I do get to play it, though from first impression it looks more gimmicky than anything.

I so hope you continue to make puyo content. I've always wanted to get into puyo and this channel has been helping. I'm not good at the actual puyo part, but I still enjoy the franchise.

I should just note the word "Pierrot" (which you consistently pronounce "Perry-ott") is pronounced ""Pierroh." Like the French name "Pierre" but with an "Oh" at the end. The T is silent. Like Pierre, its a French name... though Japan likes to use it for clown characters.
