They now allow you to create 100 "looks" for free for a single avatar. In other words, you can film yourself and change your clothing, your position (sitting or standing) background etc. If you're on the free plan, you get one custom avatar, but that avatar can have up to 100 looks. I'm sure that works for the still avatar, but I'm not sure if it works for the full body motion avatar. If you need both, you might test it out. If needed, you can upgrade to a paid plan, where they allow you to have more than one custom avatar. I'd recommend using HeyGen for facebook ads, as they say they allow it. Synthesia doesn't allow using their stock avatars for facebook ads according to their license help article (they might allow it for Enterprise users). help.synthesia.io/en/articles/6341928-synthesia-video-licensing

You're right - prices have gone up since I made this video. Sure, just add a new scene after the one where they're waving, and choose "continue scene". All actions from the previous scene will stop, and then you can have them do a different action like "standing" or "talking".

Yes! If you click on the clone of yourself, you can "add a new look". That can be you wearing a different outfit, or using a different camera angle, or new background. (currently they allow 100 looks per instant avatar on the free plan)

Hi @DarrenSalty! That’s a great question. I think that may be true for the motion avatars which can be filmed while walking and includes the background changes. The trick might be to have a longer original film footage so the repetition isn’t noticeable. For stationary avatars, I didn’t notice repetition, but you might want to test that out too. In any case, a longer sample footage might help (I think the max might be 5 minutes).

Thanks @benohashi9706! You can use your phone mounted on a stand, just make sure you have good lighting on your face. Natural light from a window works, or try a softbox light shining on your face (I listed my favorite light in the description under #3 "optional equipment"). I do use a cannon camera, but I'm not shooting in 4K, and it's a few years old. The phones these days have super high quality cameras, so that should work fine. I'm actually using 3 of those softbox lights in my studio setup (one on my left close to my face, one on my right further away, and one kind of behind me also on my right). No bright lights behind you at all (I'm using blackout blinds) But again, soft light on your face is most important. Great question about the audio! If you're close enough to your phone, the audio quality might be good enough. If not, try Elevenlabs, or if you want to boost the quality, maybe a wireless mic like the one listed under #3. (I decided to upload audio for this demo, but personally, I think Elevenlabs has great quality too). Thanks for the excellent questions!

Also, on the free plan, you can now create different looks for your instant avatar, with different poses clothing etc (they talk about this in the LinkedIn webinar). Or to delete the instant avatar and start over, click the 3 dots in the upper right corner of the instant avatar's picture.

@@timelesstruthstolovelife When you create a clone as shown in this video, it automatically clones your voice too. Many people simply use the cloned voice, because it’s pretty good quality. But I wanted to add more warmth to my voice, so when I used my clone to create as new video, you’ll notice I uploaded an audio file instead of simply typing a script. I recorded that audio file with my microphone, but you can also record yourself speaking on your phone’s voice recorder app. Then when the clone talks it’s using your real voice, not a cloned copy.

HeyGen just updated the pricing plans: now you can create 3 videos up to 3 minutes long on the free plan. If you upgrade to the Creator plan, you can create UNLIMITED videos up to 5 minutes long, and on the Teams plan, videos can be 30 minutes long.
