I've had a pretty challenging experience with HeyGen. First off, it takes around 17 hours to generate a single video, which is far too long. The voice often shifts mid-video and doesn’t accurately capture my own tone, lacking the authenticity I expected. Another downside is that if you make a mistake with an avatar, there's no option to delete and recreate it, which is incredibly frustrating. Support is nearly nonexistent, and the avatars themselves lack any real emotion, which makes them feel less engaging. Plus, you can’t even include two avatars in the same scene, which limits the tool's versatility. I honestly can’t recommend HeyGen at this point, and while your video shows many appealing features, in reality, they don’t deliver as expected. I’d recommend a deeper analysis before suggesting it as a viable solution.

It's probably worth reaching out to HeyGen to ask if there was a technical glitch on their end. Also, on the free plan, you can now create different looks for your instant avatar, with different poses clothing etc (they talk about this in the LinkedIn webinar). Or to delete the instant avatar and start over, click the 3 dots in the upper right corner of the instant avatar's picture.

However, my main concerns remain: the long rendering times, inconsistent voice quality, and the lack of emotional expression in avatars really impact the tool’s usability for professional projects. These limitations, combined with the slow support response, have made it challenging to rely on HeyGen for timely and high-quality content creation. While I appreciate the improvements, I hope future updates address these critical areas, as they significantly affect user experience and overall satisfaction with the tool.

They also recently added a more robust free plan. (The new expressions and free plan weren't available when I filmed my Synthisia tutorial, but it will give you an idea of what's possible). This is so powerful! It uses your voice and the lip sync is seamless. I cannot judge rhe translation accuracy since I don't speak the demoed languages. Next time, if you do a Chinese teanslatuon, I will be able to evaluate 😊

@@timelesstruthstolovelife When you create a clone as shown in this video, it automatically clones your voice too. Many people simply use the cloned voice, because it’s pretty good quality. But I wanted to add more warmth to my voice, so when I used my clone to create as new video, you’ll notice I uploaded an audio file instead of simply typing a script. I recorded that audio file with my microphone, but you can also record yourself speaking on your phone’s voice recorder app. Then when the clone talks it’s using your real voice, not a cloned copy.

Please read the terms with ai. Many of these companies have the rights to use your likeness and voice!!! From what I just read on their site, HeyGen terms say I would own my voice and likeness but they have the right to use it. That’s how I read it. Let me know if I’m wrong. I can’t go with that.

HeyGen just updated the pricing plans: now you can create 3 videos up to 3 minutes long on the free plan. If you upgrade to the Creator plan, you can create UNLIMITED videos up to 5 minutes long, and on the Teams plan, videos can be 30 minutes long.

To record a dialogue with different sounding voices, you'll need to create the lines for each character separately using two different voices. Then download the audio files so you can edit hem together using any editing software like Audacity or Camtasia.

The limited monthly minutes limit unfortunately does not make it suitable for the creation of multilingual video courses or tutorials, which would definitely change the world of online training. What can you do with 15 minutes a month? A few reels on IG or a few Shorts on YT and very little else... When this technology lowers prices and is truly for everyone, there will be a real revolution.

Only Vyond characters and styles are available in the Vyond platform. You could try customizing a character to make it look more like Cailou, but to achieve the full effect, you'd probably need to create hand-drawn animation.

@@KimberlyGoh Thanks. It's hard building a portfolio when you can't afford most of the industry standard LMS programs and have to create something during the free trail. I've been teaching "mostly English" for nearly ten years now "college level" and just now shifting towards instructional design. I can't stand getting a job as an adjunct instructor and the curriculum is already built and you can't change anything. My education is a M.A in English Lit, so I'm teaching myself all the industry standards, Articulate, Absorb, Captivate.... Honestly I wish I could just stick to making videos, interactive PowerPoints and E-Learning video games and not bother with anything else.

Try adding a shape, and choose "Action Buttons", which I think is toward the bottom of the list. Choose the one called "Action Button Blank" (looks like a blank square). You should be able to choose "Hyperlink" then choose the destination slide. this is great! I made a 5min audio clip with heygen professional custom voice but wanted to edit some of the pauses and tone throughout the clip and ended up submitting it a few times and realized I ate through all my credits! I ended up downloading a few clips and mix/mashing it together in a separate audio editor. Is there a way to edit in the heygen app so I don't eat through all my credits? adjust pauses and tone?

When I tested out the Clone Generator by video recording myself reading a script, my eyes wandered away from the camera. Do you have any tips or tricks to not appear as though you're reading from a script for either the HeyGen tool, or just recording videos for KZbin in general?

@@lindabrigante4173 Thanks so much! One of the best ways to do that is to not use a script at all. Just look directly at the camera and talk to it as though you were talking to a person. Many creators have a list of bullet points for topic they want to cover, and look off camera only when referring to that list. Then you can edit out those portions of the video with video editing software later. It takes a bit of practice to use this approach, but I have no doubt you can do it, as you have such great presence both on and off camera 😊

I believe you can download all of them for free during the month. Each file can be used once (ie. your license lets you use an asset in a project, but you aren't allowed to use an asset in several projects). The next month, they'll all be removed and replaced by a new set of free assets.
