RIP brother, thank you for sharing, and I hope one day your dream will become a reality and northwest will prevail. It's a shame that Vid came to the rescue but Northwest turned the blind eye. Old stinky band-aids all over again. Kemwarhukulo oo Pauly.

That is a very powerful document; from the Governor to JEMCO? Wow. But did it work? If it involved Governor Elimo (Power) and JEMCO (Power), why didn't it go through? Because along the line that this document was handed down, someone (also powerful) snatched it, shredded it, and wiped it with his bony backside. I think that's what happened. What a shame.

About three decades ago, students and the faculty were watching a movie together in the Media Room upstairs in the main building(Mabuchi HIll High School--aka XHS). At certain point in the movie, the Micronesian students along with the Micronesian staff would laugh. The Americans looked at each other and just shrugged, confused. Then when the Americans laughed, the Micronesian kids, including the teachers, would look at each other and silently say: "Why are they laughing? That wasn't a funny scene." After living with Uncle Sam for almost six years as an army medic, I began to understand why the American teachers back in high school found humor at certain point in the movie. I quickly went and rented the same movie and laughed throughout the movie. I laughed at what the Micronesians found funny and what the Americans found funny. I can now say that I am one of the most American (inside) person in Chuuk. If I were to teleport to the US right now, I would quickly become acquainted with the culture, food, people, and believe or not, the climate. It's not so much the "Kennedy Effect" or "Paul Hadik Maneuver" that changed me, but mostly the US Army did it. LOL (I am laughing because of my Micronesianess).

I loved President Kennedy, and still do, God rest his soul. I now realized that his ways (i.e. Peace Corps Volunteer Program) was a way of making MIcronesians become American, but in a very subtle unsuspecting manner. Paul Hadik: "...you have to become good at English." This is the same as saying, President Kennedy was trying to Americanize you but was taking too long. I, on the other hand, want you to become Americans as soon as possible by way of improving your English--that's the first thing.

I wonder the course number for Speech and Communication in "fanuwarhese" that they offered Deacon. LOL. This man is beyond normal range in the vernacular language.

I really hate the Chuukese culture of interfering with the dancers. Why? Keep the perfume to yourselves and don't mess up the dance.... this is the voice of the cameraman. LOL.

I have been in the US for the past 30 years. Wow only in Micronesia, the bishop is carried around like a king. I take that back. Not even kings carried around like that. They don't even do it here nor in Europe. Not even Jesus carried around like that.
