Like almost every game out there everything russian is given just a little bit too much bias. Take the T-34 - any variant - In game it can shrug off hits like it's been modelled to be un penetrable. It's fast and has good survivability. In reality the T-34 was terrible. Even if the armour was not penetrated it spalled inside the tank and killed the crew. Change of surviving inside a wartime T-34 when hit was bout 15% The design called for a tank with a top speed of 35 mph. But no tank was ever produced to that standard. best they got was about 13 mph without snapping the transmission. Russian mechanical components were rarely heat treated so would wear down and brake constantly. The HE shells it used had a 50/50 chance of exploding in the barrel. I'm sure most other Russian tanks had similar issues. So annoying when you get destroyed by a Russian tank despite how terrible they were in reality and how reliable they are in game. KV1 is perhaps the only good tank that is modelled correctly. Yes it's front and turret armour is thick. It's gun was underpowered and it was decently fast. But it is definitely OP when compared to other tanks at the same battle rating.

My line up for USSR 4.0 is straight up Busted : KV1E, T34 E(the market one)BT7A F32, KV7, T34 STZ, BM31, IL8, Eremin YAK3,

It's pretty easy to pen stuff especially with the T34 unless you're shooting like Tiger 2 or IS-3/4 in the upper front plate.Its all about aiming,solid shot kind of makes you become a better player because you learn best places to shoot.

tip when u are reloading also angle the turret to make it harder to pen but make sure it works as some tanks when u angle the turret it exposes weak points AND if you are not to sure how to destroy a tank they usually have a cupola you can shoot at.

At 14:06 you shot low because HE has a lower velocity than your other rounds. When you are in the spawn screen click the shell’s icon to swap the ordering of it with another one so you spawn using the correct one. As for a general tip, once you stop being able to reliably pen tanks shooting their gun then mg down their tracks is how you need to play as a us main. This is less reliable at lower br since gaijin buffed low tier barrel health to make it more fun for new players, but as you get higher in br this strategy gets better Im at 1.1k hours playing free to play as well and I’ve almost completed the US tree, so good luck! I started back when the grind was way worse and didn’t do anything efficiently though so it should be better for you

14:05 You shot the tank with HE, and because HE has a slower velocity it didn't travel normally. Also, HE has barely any penetration at small calibres like the 75mm cannon, I would advise you to keep APHE

Great video!, one tip, i see u trying to shoot the parts of the tank to be destroyed. u always aim for the crew members so that the tank dies

when you were shooting the King Tiger 15 minutes in you shot him with HE, you should change it to be on your second slot. You can do that by pressing on in the in modification menu in your hangar, press on the drop down menu with all the shells and select the APCBC one so it's loaded first. Hope this helps :)

Every one of my games is at 5.7 is just a full uptier that devolves into us getting spawncamped within 3 minutes. Every. Time. Game feels unplayable at this point

Brother you gotta angle your tank while peaking corners and hide those side plates, I've also noticed with this game it pays to be patient with a less aggressive playstyle and knowing what tanks you're up against + their weak points. Aside from my 2 cents sweet video can't wait for more!

You need to learn how to peak corners angling because you keep peaking corners with you flat side out and you just get one shotted 😭

If you know you can’t penetrate them go for their gun barrel/tracks to disable the enemy tank, and yes the coupola on Russian tanks is a good place to aim generally does good damage.

As a player who just came back to play: yes... But not in planes

Theres also something known as the survivability onion(named as such because of the layers) the first layer is don't be seen, the second is do not be acquired(for instance, if your in a large formation that's been spotted the enemy may prioritize other targets than you) the third is don't be hit, fourth is don't be penetrated, and the last is do not be killed/knocked out. Another couple ideas that will work well for the American tank tree would be using hull down tactics and the reverse hull down tactic. As a Russian main I can't really make use of them often, but playing as any NATO tank it increases survivability and your ability to engage targets for longer durations. You should use hull down with any vehicle with -10 degrees or more gun depression. Hull down only works on maps with hills. On flat city maps a more aggressive, mobile, flanking tactic would be viable. Using binoculars in a hull down position will let you search for enemy tanks without exposing yourself, for longer engagements use the rangefinder button/key to estimate their range, allowing more precision shots further out. With the American tree long range engagements like this are only really effective with 76mm or 90mm guns and up. The 75mm is a little underpowered

First of all: Be patient near corners and closer to enemy spawn/near points, your enemies will camp and snipe you whenever they can, try to peak your camera with C behind corrners, don't go to the points on big maps like Volokolamsk, try flanking with the M18 more and try to check every corner before you move(not literally lol)

I play both arcade mode and realistic. I like arcade more though.

The problem with realistic is the anticheat is lacking, even if there is one there is still constant matches with people who have perfect aim from across 1.5 kilometres and can spot you instantly. The problem with arcade is it has NO ANTICHEAT ENABLED, so it always has a lot of cheaters in it, but then those cheaters are rather bad compared to those in realistic because they dont tryhard as much. This is why you'll always get more in arcade if you aren't playing after a banwave.

I love it. You can see in shell stats that 1 shell penetrates more and does more damage. You take the inferior solid shot type in the 1st spot anyway, so you start every game with dogmud ammo loaded. You also carry more ammo increasing your chance of death. Why even bother? Just carry only the better ammo. You can see how it performs in protection analysis.
