Woolrich should be forced to change their name now that the company has closed everything in and has no connection to Woolrich, PA.

I often drive through Woolrich on my way to work. My family and I loved Woolrich products. Another example of corporate greed. What a shame…

Sad to hear corporate greed closed the plant down

Yea, same old sad story. The old plant under-invested in, let go to seed, and finally closed and production sent overseas. This may sound Un-American, but to me, where products are made, is important thing, not where the company is headquartered. If I have a choice, I refuse to buy anything that's not made here in the USA, by American workers, including from American companies that are only here in headquarters only. In fact, I make it a point, as a protest, to buy from a competing foreign company, even if it's not made here. May as well. None of it's made here anyway. That's my particular protest, against Capitalist greed.

got two of these and regret them both. it’s a blend and not pure wool and made overseas in some sweatshop. wish woolrich would take some pride in their clothing again.

No people of color live in that town . I was just in Woolrich yesterday. It's as boring and basic as it gets. That is also the appeal but the only industry was from the wool.

Yes we did. Many nationalities worked at Woolrich. I worked for them a total of 43 years. We employed African Americans, Asians, Native Americans. And I have to say, we all had a great working relationship. All people of all colors Faith and creed have worked at Woolrich. Making some of the finest products in the world. The Mill was sold to a company from New Jersey. Crown Mill. I am now back there working to fix up the place. Been doing a lot of cleaning and getting rid of old stuff. And taking care of the facility. Although I am 66 years old. I loved working at Woolrich. And grew up in the town of Woolrich. I have been doing some repairs in this facility. And will be doing many more in the year to come. It feels so good to be back there, and I have the main key. I am my own boss. I also am making more money than when working for Woolrich. But Woolrich gave me 43 weeks of severance pay and a couple months of insurance. I had 4 paid weeks a year off plus Holidays. Woolrich was a great company to work for. Many machines are still in the facility. All the ones I ran are still there. Although they are old, they still can be operated. We are not yet sure what Crown Mill Holdings is going to do there. But whatever they do we will be ready.

Screw Woolrich for selling out. The hip-hop inspired boyband look they're currently going for pissed all over the reputation they had made for themselves. Farmers and woodsmen supported you for years only for you to stab us in the back for our loyalty.

How many woodsmen or woodspeople are there in the us today... Hipsters only people who buy this kind of stuff now. Still Ur right ... Woolrich brand clearly wants to be the slightly cheaper version of Canada goose. But reality is their quality will go downhill now and people and sensible people will spend s few hundred dollars more for a made on Canada coat with a guarantee not provd by Woolrich. Woolrich is finished.

A person can tell as soon as they look at a Woolrich wool blanket that they are really different. The weave and quality of the wool is so above any other blanket I've come across.

I just bought an olive colored Woolrich Men's Wool Stag Shirt Jac. I got it a size larger than my usual shirts so I could put a wool sweater underneath it. These are some very good shirts. The stitching pattern is twill, with diagonal lines running across the fabric, which is quite thick, for a shirt. The fiber content of the fabric is 85% wool and 15% nylon. That's standard rag wool, but this shirt is much more tightly woven than your typical rag wool sweater is. Thick enough to function as a jacket, the Stag Shirt Jac is _unlined_ except for a strip of cotton (?) lining down the button holes and around the collar. That's _good_ because the last thing you want to feel when you put a winter garment on is the cold clamminess of a sleazy, cheapskate polyester lining. The shirt has a flap of extra material covering the top half of the shirt (like a very brief cape). The holes for the top pocket buttons are in this flap. The shirt has four pockets, all at the outside front, with the top pockets having button closure, while the bottom pockets are opened at a slant (about 45 degrees). The pockets are honest fabric (wool, nylon) and aren't merely extrusions of lining material, as on some coats. They are admirably deep pockets, too, sufficient to put your hands in with the wrists too, in case it's really cold and the wind is blowing. The bottom hem is about an inch wide. Sometimes a company run for profit actually does something right. However, they make you pay for what you get. Currently (January 2018), these shirts are priced in the neighborhood of $140 each. I must say, I'd not have paid that much for my own Woolrich Men's Wool Stag Shirt-Jac, even considering how good it is. I bought mine on eBay for $34, including shipping. Of course, maybe you are a rich fellow to whom the retail price is acceptable. The choice is yours. Disclosure statement: I am not affiliated in any way with Woolrich or with any of its vendors. I am not writing on behalf of, or at the request of, anyone with a financial interest in selling these items. I'm someone who happened to buy a shirt on eBay and liked it enough to look around the web for information related to it.
