The part being played on the keyboard is a timpani score, written in the twentieth century by English musicologist Robert Thruston Dart. It provides a magnificent underpinning to Purcell's Funeral March, and it has become so familiar that many people don't realize it is a later addition.

I just had my OB6 version of this removed and got a copyright strike. I had over 12K views on it. I thought that it was "revenue sharing" but now after 7 years, BAM removal and copyright strike. My I ask what the status of your excellent version of this is?
@20edo8 ай бұрын
My condolences, she who must not be named is still at it with the DMCA takedowns it seems. I had to reupload my version several times aswell (and received a strike), until I realized that you simply have to remove any mention of her name or work (or the movies it appeared in) from title and description to avoid the video being flagged ;)

@@20edo Thank you for that information. Are you saying that I should not mention the artist whose initials are WC?
@seanchristophersynthesizer69998 ай бұрын
@@20edo I just found the Reddit conversation on the matter, Insane! What respect I had for WC before this is now gone. What a litigious beeotch! Thanks again for the heads up on what I need to do to re-up it. Now off to "copyright school". LOL

No worries - it's unfortunate that one of the most important pioneers of electronic music acts like this, but at a certain age some people just turn stubborn and bitter I suppose. I wouldn't hold it against her tho, just seperate the artist from the art ;)

Are those supposed be cannon salutes at the end? Bravo, my friend. You are hired as court composer in the parallel future-past of 17th century England. Now, the most important question is: Are you Catholic or Protestant? Seriously, this is great. Thank you.

They are indeed incredibly aggressive (and delusional) regarding their unjustified copyright claims.

Hi CalicoJacksCarvery, I think you were the first person to ask about using my version all those years ago! Very cool video and sad to hear that's happened. Mine was taken down a month ago, so guessing about the same time. I tried to contact them, but the email address was one of those fake/temporary ones that was just used to stop some people who won't take it to a counter-notification. I'm in the process of doing one and hoping for the best.
@IThinkYouLookLarvely Жыл бұрын
@@20edo Great version! As above, mine has just been taken down. I see what you've done in the description- I hope that works :D
@LawrenceJamesBailey Жыл бұрын
@@IThinkYouLookLarvely Hi! I was going to contact you about it, but I didn’t want to unwittingly drag you into it. I filed a counter claim and entered into dialogue with Wendy Carlos’s partner. In the end it came down to me taking it all the way with legal proceedings in NYC or giving up. I couldn’t afford the legal fees as and after all I didn’t create the audio, so it was tricky for me to defend why the version i was using is different to the Carlos version.

@@IThinkYouLookLarvely sorry… to confuse things i just replied to you using a different account! But yes, i used your audio in my video 15 years ago.
