The line "please let me die to be found!" Really resonated with me. When my mum was stuck with her ex, I was actually suicidal. So when he threatened violence, I tried to get him to murder him, because my thought process was deadass "I want to die. I can't take his bullshit anymore! Better put my actual blood on his hands so that I don't die for nothing!" Lucky for us all, my provocations scared the shit outta him and he never dared lifting a hand against me. He only tormented me mentally. Being tormented mentally is actually worse than being tormented physically, because if you get beaten, you can just go to the police on your way to work. Ideally, you took a preemptive measure and have an understanding manager or an understanding colleague, and asked them "should I ever not show up, call the police! Please! My partner is controlling and I can't flee!" , so that should your partner bar you from going to work, because you might disclose that you're getting beaten, the police would show up. Alternatively, you could pretend to order a pizza, but enter "call the police!" Into the notifications.
