It was a good amount of work to make it run good on 35s. Specially because i din't want to cut the fenders lol. But i love 35s, my gas milage only went down 1mpg. I am working on the video so i can give you more details.

Changing the gears would have been a better option. That $300 was wasted. For around $600 4.56 gears would be money better spent. I purchased a tj with a tuner and couldn't tell much difference but when I went to 4.56 gear it was great.
@g_packventures2 ай бұрын
@themechanic4409 I am planning on doing gears, just waiting for the dana 30 to blow up and goo Dana 44. Just wanted to get as much power out of the 4.0 without compromising its reliability with like a cam or other power adders. Will see how this does. Don't remind me about the price it still hurts 🙃😅

Get er cleaned up good! Then reinstall just my 2 cents brother man! Great vid as usual😊. I agree with your dont be scared to do work too! I could pay the man to do the work or i look at it this way. How do you like the lunchbox locker in front axle? Would you do it again or go selectable locker?
@g_packventures5 ай бұрын
I would definitely do lunchbox, I have bent axle shafts, and the locker still looked great. I see a lot of people with selectable lockers have problems at one point, to many parts can cause a failure like air line, air compressor, fiting, locker it self inside, relays for compressor, and the price. Don't get me wrong, they are great when they are working and for people that have a dedicated wheeler, or for dana60s and up. The only cones about lunchboxes are in ice and snow. I don't see that weather much where I live, but when I got stuck in snow and turned the tires the truck would still go straight, and it does take a bit to learn how they work and feel on turns. But if my 14 year old can learn to drive it anyone can. they work great offroad, hydro assist is coming in the future to help turn sharper offroad, and that is something people with selectable lockers add anyway. This coming up video you will see me use the ones I took off the wj go on the yj. So, lunchbox locker for the win till we get 1 tons 😆

@ 7:37 you mention a better driveshaft and tcase. Are you saying the 4.0L/Dana 35 jeeps have a better shaft and case? I’m looking for a WJ to build so doing as much research as I can and your channel has been very helpful!
@g_packventures5 ай бұрын
In my opinion. The 4.7 v8 does have more power and the dana44a, but it's an AWD. But the 4.0 engine has been proven more reliable, easier to work on, better t-case 4x4, better drive shaft, and both have dana 30 in the front. The dana 35 with locker did me good till I started hitting harder more technical trails.

I solved the clearance issue by putting 1" spacers on the sway bar mounts between the mount and the bracket. I gopro'd my sway bar before and it was hitting at high articulation. Not now, and the operation of the sway bar doesn't seem to be affected by the spacing.
@g_packventures5 ай бұрын
Thanks, I added 1/2 spacers when I put the dana44a. But you are correct I will add another 1/2 inch more to make sure it doesn't hit
