Love this place for spotted bay bass. Never had much luck with halibut.
@DoctorSess Жыл бұрын
Yeah I’ve mostly caught spotted bass in the back bay but you can get halibut too. I got a decent little one out in the channel last week probably about 16-18 inches jigging an artificial minnow off the bottom.
@phuongvuong5391 Жыл бұрын
I think this place had many Halibut but must have live bait ( Enchovy or smelt….) .

Christopher, I am a weak swimmer at best, having overcome my aquaphobia through a few classes at a local municipal pool. I am also an avid kayak fisherman and will hopefully acquire a float tube soon. I have fished many hours solo from a (stable) kayak in pretty extreme conditions and have never felt that I was in danger of exiting my boat and drowning, even when surrounded by floe ice during a midwinter lake thaw (and caught a nice smallmouth bass in the process). Stop paying tribute to fear, commend yourself to God and step into adventure, my friend!

The float tube will hold your weight its like sitting in a recliner chair on the water with the full benifits of catching fish

I just watched this video and I’m arguing with my brother that the hookup baits work. How many fish have you caught with them? He says that there’s no way they get hit...
@ericspinfisher30103 жыл бұрын
Ornery Bob just described every fishing spot in Alamitos Bay with a pretty fine angler's sense - although I think the rules for fishing in the Stadium area might have changed since this video was filmed. If he says he has good success on Spotties, Calicos and Halibut in the bay, I think its safe to say you can trust his advice.

I was thinking about float-tubing off the Farallon islands for White Sharks. If you chummed you wouldn't need a fish finder, the fish would come to you. Catch and release only, of course

@gianttweety19694 жыл бұрын
I think a paddle would be tough while fishing. Get one of the small pontoon boats that has the built in paddle system. They are 8 or 9 feet long.

definitely a different environment. I've fished there only once for about 8 hours and fished the moorings for 2 of them. The moorings only produced 1 fish but when i switched to open water casting/trolling I managed 28 fish in 6 hours. very productive harbor if fished correctly.
