I agree with almost everything he says, especially about us being a bunch of whiny, sensitive bitches. There's still plenty of good quality representational art, but subject matter seems tame.

For you BOZOS that are critical of Williams' statements about the dicks of the artworld, try it. There are so many phonies, people who can't draw or paint, can't think but generally stink that most people quit and make their art privately. Like Williams said "wild spirit" died with political correctness and mediocre skills that now prevails in the so-called art world. Mylar balloons going for Million$$$? LOL! Williams work by comparison to Koons is visionary. Hermetically sealed sucks.

To continue on that, it may be possible that Loch Ness is an area where energy may form, trapping that energy into the area that is the loch, much like the theory of ley lines.

Cont. Just like ghosts, who may in fact be due to our brain tuning into alternative realities (which may account for UFO sightings), is it also not possible that Nessie sightings are that also. It makes some sense when science cannot find any evidence of a large creature being able to live and survive in the loch & reports of some odd reports by eye-witnesses. There may not be a nuts & bolts physical aspect to it all. That won't however entertain some. I'm open-minded about it all.

I don't think it's unrealistic to think that Plesiosaurs may still exist, certainly in other areas of the UK it's possible as sightings of them have been documented from the Cornish coast. One thing that many never consider is the paranormal aspect of the sightings; in an age of scientific advancement & an increasing conspiratorially-aware society, we're finding out our perceived vision of the world is far from the physical one that many swear by. Cont..

Although I think Steve is an inspiration to many of us who wish they could change their routing lifestyle for something adventurous, I bet lots of people will see his lifestyle as very far-fetched & suspicious, questions like how does he pay rent, heating, get the internet, how come landowners haven't moved him. If I set up a mobile home where I live on a lake shore, I'd soon have the law coming down on me. That is the real world we live in unfortunately. Prob why so get discouraged.

Pollock in his lifetime got maybe 1500 at best near the end . He didn't laugh all the way to the bank . He wasn't selling a concept he was taking it to the next level . I think there's an element of Pollock in Williams . At least in the ones I've seen in person

It's funny, this "Lowbrow" thing. Seems to me this Juxtapoz magazine only publishes a bunch of its friends and artists who made the grade. At least they could write back when one sends them his work. "highbrow" would suit them best. If someone cares to see my rejected work search ALVAREZ CABRERO on google

This is what happens when the arts are not part of some force funded government program. Low brow art in a "public" museum would only cheapen the style and raise the price through the roof . When you can name your own price and have a hammer to back you up, why bother working? Instead when you let the free will of the public put a value on art you get awesome stuff that people would be willing to voluntarily pay money for.

I was introduced to His work by one of My Private Drum Students & I LOVE His Viseral, Raw, Dirty expression of Humanity..........as He quite RIGHTLY says in this interview (which I LoVe for it's TRUTH) His kind of honest, Rude, Wild & Powerful, skilled Art just Doesn't happen these days in the "Art" world (Maybe with the exception of the Graffiti Art Genre) ANYWAY I LOVE THIS GUY & HIS WORK!!! Daddy Funk x

@1Dancingfan I hear you but he has been up against it for a large portion of his career. There are still shows and exhibitions that wont exhibit his work even though his work these days is much more toned down. I wouldnt say that statement is meant in arrogance. He is a pretty cool cat. I am a big big graf fan by the way. He goes hand in hand with it in my opinion. Not only style but also in ethos. I think he was one of the first to light the candle.

@darkmiguel3 I can only hope you were exceedingly high when you posted that last comment. Ive checked out the work on your channel. Im not saying you dont have talent but you are comparing yourself to a modern day master. Literally a master of his craft. There is no one in the world who can do what he does. Not even the other great 'Lowbrow' artists would state similarities between their work. You have a serious amount of work to do. Even then you would have to find a completey unique niche.

Another Todd Shorr fan! I just got his new book "American Surreal." Great stuff. Mark Ryden's another favorite of mine. I saw R Crumb the other night at UCLA - there's another cool artist. You probably have it, but the Nov. Juxtapoz is Williams-centric. Pretty cool. Take it easy! Take it easy

you mean the magazine? yeah on that I agree. Too much hip hip looking crap in it. Although here recently I have seen more of the better "lowbrow" artists featured in it. At any rate I have some great art books that feature roberts art in them. I could sit and look at them for hours (and I do, in fact)! I also have a wonderful book by another "lowbrow" master, Todd Schorr. His stuff is amazing!
