Hearing you play makes me feel sorry for my wildkat, I am shit beyond shit, every scrap I can do I have had to sweat for, nothing has ever come naturally for me, I can play chords fast but that is my limit. Thankfully after 6 years I shouldn't think anyone will read this.

One thing I've heard you say before is to not anchor your picking hand, which I tend to do for leads. I didn't think it was something I needed to work on but you obviously know better, so I've been trying to avoid doing so. I've been watching your picking hand and noticed the way you hold your pick is like a closed fist. I thought that was odd and would feel unnatural but I tried it and it actually made it easier to play the exercises up to this point and doesn't feel to different When you did the exercise at 1:25 I was extremely discouraged lol. I kept rewinding and trying to keep up and I think I played the sequence correctly once and my left hand was on fire. Then you said that you were running our of endurance and made the comment that it was ridiculous and I felt way better lol. I did notice for the first time that your picking hand started opening more for this exercise due to the speed required. Just an observation. The majority of what I play is fast metal rhythm, so my right hand fingers are pretty spread out but I am focusing on holding my pick like you do for leads.

I try to get in the flow when I'm jamming but I never thought of trying that for practicing.

My right hand is always the one that hurts for me but this one had my left pinky straining. Weird too cause it's not a stretch.

The second Friday of the year I found out recently is about when most people give up on their new year's resolutions. Still going strong with mine. I was able to keep up with the faster sub division on this one.

Hey Allen, was wondering if you have any suggestions for beginners having trouble with getting their pinky up to the low e string with the other fingers, having trouble keeping up due to this, thank you!

I tried to run before I learned to walk. Slowing things down and playing them cleanly is going to help me tremendously.

The switch back down the strings was a little trickier than I'd like to admit. Shows me how little I use sequences like that.

locked in today, my pinky is having a really hard time keeping up, back I guess thats what practice is for! Day 4 getting started

Cutting it close today (almost midnight), but still on track.

day 3 complete, sent my cheap squire to get set up so tried this on the accoustic, cool to learn how this sound is actually accomplished!

Completed day 2 yesterday! Commenting everyday to keep on track!

I'm not skipping ahead to assure that I play everyday this year.
