3 suggestions: Ridgeline in Superstitions (point-to-point - Carney Springs to Flatiron/Lost Dutchman Park or reverse). Loop Weavers Needle from Peralta TH (up Peralta, around Weavers, down Bluff Springs). Another day hike in Superstitions with 3 points of interest - up Peralta to Fremont Saddle, left out and back to Robber's Roost, back at saddle go to Lone Tree, then go down Geronimo's Cave trail to Bluff Springs trail. Of the 7 you listed, I've done 3: Humphreys, Flatiron, and SK-Phantom-BA (Rim-River-Rim :-) ). Thanks for sharing your adventures.

I grew up in Kingman and so we frequented the Canyon a lot. My eighth grade class took a hike down the south kaibab trail to cedar ridge and back. It was my first time that deep inside the canyon, but the hook was set. My wife and I are doing some major prepping and we are planning to hike the south kaibab to phantom ranch and back up bright angel next year. We have a long road ahead of us getting ourselves in shape for it, but I can hardly wait to do it.

This is a great video and I really enjoyed watching it. I seldom see it from this perspective. We rescue many people from this trail annually, mostly from the 7,500-7,800' level. We call that section "tap out" because that is where the trail is no longer and in the winter the ice and snow cover any semblance of direction to go. Many people call 911 from there and we hoist them out. I have a video on my channel about how the tram was constructed from 1961-63. If you are a helicopter pilot, you will marvel at the pilots that slung thousands of loads up the mountain to build it. Thank you for making this video, again, it was great to see.

Curious since you've done both , which was more difficult this or Mt. Whitney one day?
@InspireToGo19 күн бұрын
Tough guestion. They are both difficult. It would be a toss up. The way we hiked Cactus to Clouds with our packs was harder. Without packs Mt Whitney would probably be more difficult.
@rashidbelk259519 күн бұрын
@InspireToGo thanks for the heads up! Insane. I've done mt Whitney and it was very difficult especially from 12k to 14k elevation. Will prep hard for c2c and try to pack light. Thank you for the info.

I’ve done R2R 3 times - but never in a single day. I’ve hiked quite a few GC trails in the last 8 years. My goal quickly - by year 2 -. Went from proving I could DO it, to spending as much time as my family will allow me to BE in the Canyon. I have no desire to day hike the Corridor. And, I consider the round trip to be significantly life threatening at my age. To each his own. But thanks for the tour of the state. I often wonder what the trails beyond the Canyon are like. 👏 Now, off to continue flatlander-training for my next 6-day Canyon adventure in March 2025. Solitude, silence, and magic beyond the Corridor. So much Canyon, so little time.

There is a way to make the Wrightson and Mt Lemmon hikes more challenging. For Mt Lemmon, start at the esperero trailhead and go over Cathedral, then down to Romero Pass and then up, this way you will hit the highest point in the Catalinas as well, it's really hard <3. For Mt Wrightson, you can start from the Florida Canyon trailhead, this way you are starting almost 1000' lower than the Madera Canyon entrances. <3 Great video, I'd also nominate Finger Rock trail to Mt Kimball here in Tucson. If you are sticking to dayhikes this is a great list. Have you been up Rincon Peak from the Miller Creek trailhead... OMG not easy.

congrats. summiting a peak is always a big accomplishment. i didn't hear you folks recommend it, but for all thinking about trekking at altitude, def try to spend some time at altitude, ideally 1-2 days, before attempting a summit of this magnitude. it can make a world of difference. peace to all.

Just hiked 10/16/24 and started at 5am.We only lasted about an hour in the hike when i had to turn around. I did everything that every person who had done this and it was going perfect until i lacked sleep. Decided to sleep in the front seat of our truck and tossed and turned all night. when we we woke up we were so tired however we kept on. An hour into the hike my pack felt super heavy at each break until the rocks started tunneling in and out. At that point i threw in the towel and turned back. Shortly after that our lamps went out. If there was any doubt of going back to the truck the lights were it. As we went down to Alabama Hills all i did was cry how i was so close but yet so far. Definitely will do things a whole lot different thing different next year.

Congrats, you two. You took on a notorious booger of a trail, and remained chipper and upbeat (at least, in front of the camera) Years ago, a friend and I climbed the north face of San Jacinto from the little mountain hamlet of Snow Creek, at the base. (Huell Howser did a segment on the town) So I’ve done San Jack the OTHER hard way ! Glad to see fellow masochists slap the summit.
