Apparently, they wanted to distribute it in North America, too, but the head of Software Creations got impatient and put it out in that market. The people at Nintendo were surprised, and continued with their plan to publish it in the other markets.

this wasn't a BETA, just a romhack meant to look like one. Also, the original poster of the ROM was passing this off as a beta from sometime in 1991, so yeah... But don't forget, that this is still a hoax! An elaborate one too.

I remember sitting in class while on the computers on the last day 5th grade, and my friend was playing this song. I asked him what it was and it introduced me to the world of the internet. Now I am a high schooler, and look at how the world has changed, but that seal will stay forever. Thank you addresserror for creating this. You truly are what has started it all for me.

We (SSRG Reunion panel) are actually looking for both Cyan ... and TomSonic. Looks like I found one of you two. :) How's it been? I take it that it's too late to ask you to come to RetroWorldExpo 2023 in Hartford next weekend, is it? Ya, we are not sure what happened to Cyan. He vanished one day many years ago. His old website is still up as he left it all those years ago.
