As someone without any degrees or “professions” I don’t feel stuck because I’m playing a different game. I’m focused on mental physical and emotional health within myself and with those I love. Wealth is there and I’m improving every single day. Also, $SUPER and Imposters 😉 for those who are in the know. I’m also working on developing 2D/3D hybrids in unreal 5 🎉

Procrastination is in my opinion the biggest challenge people face in our modern society. Let’s say you have to take out the trash and you don’t want to see you say I’m gonna do it in 10 minutes but then that 10 minutes turns to a few hours because procrastination makes us believe that we do it later, but we actually don’t and then we keep pushing it out to later dates

The stuff you talk about on gamification has been great but was Disappointed with the 1 dimensional thinking of apply game like rewards to your systems - Taking game design elements and copy pasting them into life is not gamification, it's Cringification. The Gamification Godfather - Yu Kai Chou reminds us that Game Design Techniques need to be thoughtfully applied to life and usually recreated in order for them to be effective rather than a gimmick. Rewarding yourself with video games after going to the gym means that you're giving yourself reverse motivation. It will work short term and get you from 0-10 but keep you stuck and not be able to go from 10 - 100 - 1000. The goal is to enjoy going to them gym more, not less. Giving yourself goals that reinforce you to do the behavior you are trying to improve is where we want to get. - Give yourself predominantly visual rewards - use a habit tracking app to show yourself that you are going to the gym the set days that you do. - track and stack any PR's you have in an achievements list. - this is quite specific but for easy cardio on machines I used to watch 1 episode of anime while on the stairmaster - VERY SPARINGLY give yourself physical rewards that reinforce the habit - maybe save for some new gym clothes when you hit some major milestone/s - ( lots of nuance to this but be careful with physical rewards as you fall into the trap of hedonic adaptation.) You might think this is a hate comment but It's intended as a critique and I'd love to chat in depth about taking the gamification of life seriously. If gamers thought more like the game designers of their own lives, they would have to potential to get ahead of most people. Life Gamification should be a massive movement right now, but because it was never applied in a thoughtful way, it never took off and is dominated by cringe af apps like habitica. - (you don't need to buy in-app coins to have some pixel pet to make you to stick to your habits)
