Did a similar mod to mine last year, I used 110mm hole saw which removes both factory holes completely but still a good enough lip for structual strength, I fitted a reducer boot that fits perfectly around the bottom of the skimmer then reducing down to take a 110mm slide valve as I converted mine to gravity feed an ultrasieve. The only issue with making this a gravity feed skimmer is the floating weir with basket will no longer work as the pumps suction is needed to draw the floating weir down to allow water to flow, plus never really like the floating weir as it always had an issue with drawing in air and burping all the time, I just bought the traditional weir flap for it and that works way better IMO plus no real limit in regards to flow rate where pump fed I believe is around 8000LPH, good skimmers though as mine was fitted in 2005 and still going strong
@cotswoldkoi Жыл бұрын
Hello, yes I've converted many to 110mm as well i like to use a 110mm threaded tank connector, I'm assuming you used a 6" - 4" rubber boot ? I've never found this type of weir to be a problem, if its feeding straight into a drum i tend to not use the basket apart from the autumn when there is a large amount of leaves. yeah the flow rate is impressive gravity links 110mm tank connector www.cotswoldkoi.co.uk/product/black-waste-threaded-tank-connectors/ 6" to 4" boot www.cotswoldkoi.co.uk/product/flexible-adaptors/

I recently changed the bulb on my unit as it has been running almost a year and since then the unit is constantly expelling bubbles when i turn the pump on. Any tips on how to resolve this? I’ve turned the unit vertically and increased the flow rate to try and clear the air but it jeeps coming back great video on the installation
@cotswoldkoi Жыл бұрын
Hello, sorry for the slow reply, it sounds like your system is sucking air into it somewhere could be the UV or a pipe connection, did you manage to resolve this?
@Richs_reef Жыл бұрын

Thx for sharing great to setup , can I ask what’s the point of the one way valve on a shower ?
@cotswoldkoi Жыл бұрын
it's for the heater more than the shower, so if the heater is on and for some reason the pump stops the heater won't run dry and will cool down slowly. Rob

Why not do a video for the SuperSieve pump ??? It's looks quite complicated but can take much more flow and from two different pumps ! I've also seen an amalgam uv steriliser fitted to one of the outlets to clump algae and stop biofilm build-up on the wedge wire screen. Would work a treat in front of a nexus 320..
