Dude got my CDL this past February and have done nothing with it. I thought id be doing what you are and maybe in the oil fields in Texas making big money but I chickened out. I know i could get it (the driving) but from the time of starting out to getting to the point of getting it I'm so scared id mess up (with that in everything in life). Well randomly on my feed, hope all continues to be well for you in your career and keep up the vids.

Hey man, I've made my share of mistakes. Go back and check out some of my vlogs. I had an accident and knocked off one of our trailer doors during my 240 hours in training. About a week or two ago I hit a tire in the road and damaged my truck. What's important to remember is that you're not out when you're down, you're out when you quit. We all make mistakes out here, but it's important to do the best you can and take each lesson as a learning experience and better yourself. 😎

A 34 hour reset is also a good time to make a youtube video😎 i think if the weather was nice i would get out and do some walking...but if its 40 or below, screw that! Is it possible to get your CDL if you were home schooled and it is hard for it to be verified? I have a CDL training place near me but I was under the impression you have to have a verifiable diploma to attend. I’m 30 at this point so does it really matter as much as work history? At the moment I’m self employed in lawn care and snow removal been doing it for 11 years. Thanks for your time.

Thanks for the question! I was homeschooling throughout high-school and have had no issues getting my CDL. I did go through an online school that did give me a diploma when I graduated, but I don't see a reason why it would affect your ability to drive. Hope this helps you out!

I somewhat like what I do now, but I will tell you all the physical labor is starting to take a toll on me at 30 so I don’t know if I want to wait til I’m 40 to make a change. Y I stay away from mega corp then big companies honestly don’t give a lick bout drivers havnt seen a good one if u wanna make money find a small outfit 10-100 truck companies they will take care of there guys. My outfit has 24 trucks and granet our loads avg 500-600 miles but checks r on avg 1000-1300 take home weekly so soon ur able to get away from the big companies

Hey Austin👋 get that cb radio working! Is not having cruise control as a new driver common among all carriers or a stevens thing? I wonder where the temp sensor is for the idle cutoff? I would be googling how can i keep that sensor reading below 32 lol. Thank you for the update. Peace✌️

Hey man! I'm working on the CB resolution, just gotta get a few bucks saved up to have it worked on lol. As far as the cruise control, I'm not sure if that's standard or just a Steven's thing. Steven's reasoning behind taking it off till you're out of grad is the ideology that you have more control of your truck when you are using the pedal rather than cruise. I will say that I've adapted to not using it as I ride my governor most of the time, so I just put my foot to the floor most of the time unless I'm going downhill or like out in California where it's 55 statewide. I will say that California runs will be so much easier on me when I get my cruise put on soon lol. And as far as the temp sensor, there is a little nub on the bottom of the driver side mirror on my t680 where the sensor is located. It may vary on other makes, years, and models.

"The best way to number 1 in a truck" "is satellite radio the way to go" "could i live without cruise control?" "The most irritating things car drivers do out on the road" "what are the most irritating things other truckers do?" Maybe these ideas will inspire you in some way. Thank you for the update. Peace✌️

Arizona Iced Tea gallon jugs once they are empty and you remove the sharp inner edge from the jug opening. Hold over a 5 gallon bucket lined with a garbage bag while sitting on the edge of the bunk. 30 years with CDL. Running team LTL the last 5 years. Heading out later today, Sunday afternoon. FINISH COLLEGE and GTFO out OTR trucking. I thought I was going to be an Electrical Engineer a long time ago.

Lol do they still sell 5 hour energy? I did see celsius/celcius at my local kroger and i thought...hey this is what Austin drinks. My first and last time trying an "energy" substance lol was my buddy at work almost 30 years ago. He was a big coke head and he was telling me about how awesome it is. He described it as "dude, you go out to your car to get a tennis racket or something and its like the most exciting thing you can think of" after hearing that i gave him i think 90 dollars and after work me and him and another buddy went to his apartment...all i remember was it was really bitter in my throat and i didnt experience any euphoria from it. I did however notice i seemed to be excessively blinking and when i left around 3 am i realized i am driving way too fast. Why am i screeching tires pulling into the gas station lol. I didnt really sleep until probably 9am...got 2 or 3 hours i think then i had to be at work by 2pm. I decided never to do that again. It was stupid to do it in the first place, but curiosity got the better of me, and they say curiosity killed the cat lol. Thank you for the shout out. Peace✌️

There was a time I drank two monster, tall boys with the screw on caps, almost back to back, and I figured it would give me some kind of jolt, but it did the opposite after I drank both of them. I was out for the night.

Really?! Wow. I've never had that happen with them. I used to drink a bunch of them everyday, like 3 or 4 a day at least. I've gotten a lot better now with energy drinks.

If I were you I would find a smaller company to drive for where you are not micromanaged. That’s all those mega carriers want to do is control you and tell you what to do and when to do it

Generally how many hours a day do you drive the full 11 or around 8 so you don't eat too much of your clock time?

It depends. I used to run only recaps so I could roll 7 days a week, but after looking at it, I found that if I run my clock out everyday, even if I have to take a 34, I should have made good from running that week. Sometimes it just works out that you may only run a few hours in a day, others you might have ran 10 hours or so. I usually like to leave a little window of time just in case I need to move in the middle of the night for some reason.

How many watts do truck microwaves use? Arent home microwaves like 800 to 1000 watts? And reviews are always good. Do a review of some ps3 games. All you have to do is film some gameplay and talk about it. "This game is so stupid" review over lol. Thank you for the video and drive safely. Peace✌️

Lol I might do a review of some of my favorite games for the channel. The microwaves we use in the trucks are mostly the same exact microwaves you'd use at home, we just power them with the inverters we have. I think mine is an 800 watt.

For sure man! I didn't even think about it until I did my pretrip and couldn't find the valve stem, which is also why pre trips are important hehe. As far as the cold pretrips, they can be brutal if that wind is whipping, but I've gotta say the worst experience is when you've gotta air up one of your tires in the cold wind lol.

@tmoshamo I'm feeling like I'm getting settled into the industry lol. Dealing with a lot of trucker problems. the fridge has been doing really good, everything is staying put this far so I can't complain. 😎
