I just solved this problem with WD40, spray the part behind the gas pedal and the same part halfway to the steering wheel

I had the same thing on mine. I removed the plastic covers behind the steeringwheel, and lubed the rubber sealing. Never made a noise again. it was probably 50.000 km ago.

Just the fact that a quarter of a million people have to watch a KZbin video to turn on notifications, which is a BASIC function should tell you something about the intelligence of computer programmers. Dumber and Dumber wasn't a comedy it was a Nostradomas like prediction. Here we are with smart dumb phones. I don't know why people put up with such trash for programmers.

Hi Jamie, would you know how to remove the rubber gaiter from the plastic trim? So the opposite end of the gaiter (away from the gear knob) it looks like it clips in with some kind of pegs? Thanks

I’ve just had the same problem fault code came up left side. So changed the caliper but still had the same problem trace fault to corroded broken wire going to caliper along swing arm

Don't need to do any of that, just pull the leather gaiter down from the top then simply pull upwards, it's held on a plastic clip

@@karpetcabin I took it to the dealership and had to pay through the nose for a new calliper+motor, before you do anything to the back brakes, release the handbrake, and then take the key out the ignition, obviously after you have jacked the car up :) I just don’t know if that will cause problems after the new pads are fitted, whatever you do, don’t take that motor off the calliper :)

@@Chris-bv5db damn man that's rough. The twat mechanic has damaged the caliper on my car and now parking brake won't come on. Showing it to another mechanic today but if if he can't fix it, I will have to take it to dealers as well. How much did they bend you over for if you don't mind me asking?

@@karpetcabin it cost me just over £300, I think only 1 calliper needed changed as I only took the motor off of 1 before I messed it up, the handbrake was glitched out on the other side so I could push the piston back easily, I will advise getting it sorted as quick as possible tho, I didn’t and my brake light switch broke and the lights were permenantly on (which definitely is not safe) Not sure if that was a knock on effect or just the car being 5 years old :) New cars eh haha

@@Chris-bv5db yeh mate I know. 2nd mechanic couldn't fix it so now I've bought a rear caliper at just over £200. Mechanic will install it tomorrow. It's a right ball ache though. Bloody cars and the electronic systems eh?

i have similar issue after changing the brake pads - reset it by holding in the traction control button, foot on the foot brake and [either pulling up or pushing down - i cant remember] the handbrake button and also the starter button for 30 seconds [startint the procedure with the engine running - wait for the service light to go out then turn off - you will hear the motors reset themelves]

@@justinkassell5581 sorry - i'm no expert - i found that sequence by trial and error. Perhaps the starter button is not relevant? try the other buttons - for 30 seconds or so

Is it fixed? I have the same problem.. can't find the hydraulic fluid.. nearest dealer is 2 hour drive. If it's an easy fix please let me know

@@andrewgreenhough no but another channel got back to me.. it's a rubber around the steering shaft that goes down to the feat area. I tried wd40 didn't help.. I left it like that, still didn't fix it.. I plan on going to dealer in a few months to do a a oil change I'll ask them.. but important thing is it's nothing serious. Not a hydraulic pump or any of that
