How expressive and organic the releases on this fantastic label were...how much I miss this Era. There's just nobody able to capture the sound of the nineties and early 2000s. Yes, there's still great music being released....but it very, very seldomly reaches the soul, imagination and love of the Golden Era. The last release in Drum & Bass that really sounded like it was done with love was the "Something Blue LP" by Blocks & Escher on Metalheadz Records.... Then Moving Shadow Records legend DJ Trax had a great track on the newer Over:Shadow Label that is ran by 2 Bad Mice. Sci:Clone have released a new LP that is decent, without ever topping their classic "Everywhere I go rmx " Some decent Atmospheric Drum & Bass released on Omni Music. But when it comes to Jazz/Blues/Funk mixed with Drum & Bass....this incredible style is as good as dead. There is not much musicality and imagination in these days...just browse Drum & Bass Arena's KZbin channel and literally everything sounds the same.... The same goes even for Labels like the Scientific Wax Crew with producers like Nebula that just throw a "Inner City Life" type string/pad over a unstructured heavily edited Amen break and just throw in a couple sub Bass sounds. Calibre is loved by many....in my opinion he hasn't released anything profound for over ten years. Goldie was his best with Rob Playford....and Labels like Hospital Records or Fokuz Records just release washed out Liquid stuff that all sounds the same. Ako Bratz just releases stuff similar to Scientific Wax - just with a sprinkle of early Jungle or Hardcore. Metalheadz Records, while still the greatest Label with the greatest producers releasing ...released much that sounds too clean, too hifi. I miss the imagination of the nineties bedroom studio producers ...that has to use cheap equipment too the fullest.... without the Internet there was way less copy cat releases....producers had their own trademark sound

is there any way to get these solid state tracks in flac or at least a 320kbps file?

A masterpiece , although I do recommend listening at 1.5 ... if you’re that much of a junglist

Track would have been nothing without the master Dextrous on this 1... in fact it’s very much fair to say he was the lynch pin behind Sota Recordings and indeed Solid State...I was a very lucky man to have worked with him and will be forever grateful for what he has taught me over the yrs....the love is strong ❤️❤️
