The story of his father’s life, death and funeral could have been the story of my own father… but for the fact that I was granted the privilege of “putting my father in heaven” rather than “putting my father in hell” at his funeral service. I have, over the years, become more convinced that the arrogance of preacher unbelief does close the eyes of belief in many ways, but it cannot negate the fact of grace for such as my father. .

Thank you so much for improving the quality of the sound you have made such a difference. Many more people will be able to really hear this wise and humble man.

Love this. Just finished listening to his book Jesus and the Disinherited. I found him through a book called The Will to Meaning by Dr. Frankle, who survived Auschwitz and mentioned what a motive in life means to someone in suicide. Imagine that man on railroad didnt help to pay for the rail ticket... wow, just WOW 🙏

Absolutely beautiful. This is the spirit that Martin Luther King put into practice and remains the best hope for saving the United States of America.

May I submit for consideration that more than greatly influencing Dr. King; may I suggest that Dr. King is the physical manifestation of Dr. Thurman's vision.

Was so surprised and meant so much meaning to me that My favorite of the many wonderful passages in the Bible, is the same as Dr. Thurman, the 139th Psalm.

A potential answer to the question asked at 3:20, in my humble opinion, can be found at Revelation 7:9 ... Dr. Thurmond is a most beautiful human being.

Dr. Thurman once said "Never reduce your life to the event you're facing right now. If you do, you're blocking the view of what's ahead of you." I think his responses to the questions starting at 2:52 - ending at 18:09 aligns with his statement. He also shares his insight on how to live life being centered from within. #Powerful
