Bangladeshis have a weird, warped, loathsome mentality. First, and overriding everything in their minds is the fact that we are dirty Hindu kafirs. This automatically makes us degraded, contemptible, sleazy, underhand despite our many achievements that the entire rest of the world acknowledges. Second, and partly because of the first point, they have this obnoxious fixation makes them think that India only has the right give, and they have the right to take unlimitedly. Third is the automatic assumption that India’s dirty-kafir mentality means that we are forever cheating them, and slimily conspiring against them. Thus for example A) The many things we have given them including their freedom mean nothing at all: it was their right (second point above). B) Its perfectly ok to hurl abuse at our cricket team and play the bad host when we visit (first point). C) Floods happen because we open dams unannounced; our considerable investment in projects means zilch (third point) - we were / are somehow, somewhere cheating them……….I have dealt with many, many dozens of Bangladeshis as friends and subordinates over decades working in the Gulf. Save say 10% (of the Muslims among them) who are genuinely good, balanced people, they ALL have this warped mentality. Despite this I have genuinely tried to befriend and help them over the years, not least because of our shared language. NO longer. The sheer volume of hate - spewing over the last few months is obnoxious, unacceptable and an eye opener. Unless there is a radical reworking of their mentality, my say is now this : let that benighted nation go to h**l. India should adopt shades of the same non-cooperation policy that it has so successfully administered to Pakistan. Bangladesh has far fewer natural resources than Pakistan and is far more disaster prone. It’ll sink further and faster. With considerable regret towards the 10%, who I will continue to help when I can and wish well, the rest of the country can disappear down a sink hole for all I care.
