If you own a Dell Latitude E-series laptop with the AC unknown issue, just purchase an old cheap PRO3X E-dock online (along with a 90W adapter if you don't already have one). The docking station bypasses the AC jack on the laptop. It worked for my 2 bad E7250 and E7450 laptops: now they charge and run faster.
