for the questions why dont I do 76,000-40,000/91 to find the rate of change?
@maximuminsight15 күн бұрын
You can, of course, do that! Since the question kept saying 76 thousand and 40 thousand, I decided it would be easier for me to work with the lower numbers. But yes, doing it like "76,000-40,000/91" and getting 396 games per day is perfectly acceptable.

This video has a mistake in it, not a huge one though. In the rational function I use to explain the whole video, the (+6) in the numerator should be (-6).

Why do we change the number(2) to 2.001
@maximuminsight1Ай бұрын
The reason you change the 2 to 2.001 is because you are finding the rate of change between two points right next to one another. This makes 2 the X1 and 2.001 the X2 in the rate of change formula.

For the point of inflection I thought it was at 0,0 because it moved from pointing down to up, could you explain why they’re multiple?
@maximuminsight12 ай бұрын
That question is a little misleading, I only provided a little portion of the graph and not the full thing so it’s hard to say from what I provided that there are three points of inflection. The only reason I said it was 3 was because I had access to a more complete graph where I could see that the concavity obviously changed at the points (-4,2) and (2,2), so don’t feel bad about not getting all three, that ones on me. However, the concavity of the graph does change at the point (-1,2) and not (0,0) therefore making (-1,2) the point of inflection. Think of it this way: Concave down is like an umbrella such that if you poured water on it, the water would come spilling off. Concave up is like a bucket because if you poured water on it, the water would collect. Or what I said in my topic 1.1 video, concave up is a U and concave down is and upside down U. Look for when it changes and that will be your point of inflection. Hope this helps!

although isn't the global minimum supposed to be none, as the graph infinitely decreases? i reckon there may be a mistake
@maximuminsight12 ай бұрын
@@umarthethird You bring up a solid point. Global/Absolute maximums don't exist if the graph goes to positive infinity and vice versa when going to negative infinity. The example graph I used in the video made it seem as if the local maximum was a global maximum despite the graph going to infinity. I apologize for not making that clear and will try to use the KZbin editor to fix that error (likely by blurring it out). I appreciate any comments helping me maintain the validity of the videos I make, these videos are made fast and mostly accurate, sometimes little things like these slip through the cracks and I appreciate you for pointing it out.
