This is the type of mechanics I always envisioned for the next Smash Bros, as they're not going be able to have as epic if a roster as Ultimate and they needs to change it completely, to differ from Ultimate as well. This kind of combat was first seen in Yuyu Hakusho for the Megadrive and Guardiam heroes had in Saturn.

1:46:45 Sorry Rynge, but, Trip Guard 4 Life! 😍 A J&J Chen term from the dawn of the FGC. A community needs creative terms like these that help us remember our roots and keep things interesting. Not clinical and boring pablum like "landing frames." 😆

I love how they mentioned World's victory animation. I swear that was literally everywhere in the 2000-2010 era. And I mean, to be honest, she is a babe. One of the reasons I realised as a young girl "you know... maybe I am not entirely straight" lmao But to be honest, maybe if I were to pick up the game again and put some practice hours in, I could easily get to this speed and above again. The players are good, sure, but not great. Not only lacking in speed bust mostly in accuracy. But who am I to judge, I haven't touched this game in years and I bet I would be SUPER rusty. But it is really fun to see that there are tournaments for this game, I never knew! So awesome to see that such an old but marvelous game still gets love ot this day, that makes me super happy!

US streams are awful. Commentators are so obsessed with themselves, zero timestamps and 75% of the video is them rambling off like it matters.

It's about damn time they make a sequel to this video, 5000 new characters and a lot more contestants, six hours in total... I would pay to watch something like this again
