Bear, thanks for the great work you do, posting all videos! It seems that the next video called 50th NSW Specialty Show The Golden Show was blocked by youtube on copyright grounds. Would be so great to watch it too.

These are show afghan hounds in Australia having a bit of fun.

usually real afghan hounds have not long hair on them & are the fastest dogs are used for hunting rabbits etc, but these type are very slow bcoz of their long hair & locked grown up, in this condition they suppose to do a catwalk & not race

@PASHTONYAR It's a nod to the breed's original function, I suppose. There are some Eastern European kennels who breed actual racing Afghans, and they look very different from the show-bred hounds. They are bred for speed, and it shows. Here is one kennel's website, if you'd like to see them: taziban.ch

@PASHTONYAR These dogs are bred to look pretty, not be fast. =P

@skisandhorses Thanks for the comments. :) I noticed how similar Faxon and Max were when I watched your videos. Kinda spooky.

Love this video! This is soooo typical of afghans, doing everything in their own time. And I burst out laughing (sorry!) at 1:18 etc. when Faxon did the "bum in the air - lighten up!" move. Gotta love these dogs whose outlook on life is a self-centered search for the most fun in life. If you want obedience, get a GSD... if you want fun, get an afghan! Hugs to Faxon from me and Max (who, incidentally, looks like Faxon's TWIN!).

Some dog specialists say that the Afghan Hound is one of the dumbest dog breeds but you've certainly proved them wrong.
