Roboforce goes wild with it's mech designs! Was that a slug-eye in the Roboforce logo?

442 Space Shuttle. A classic space ship with a white spaceman. That little guy in his spaceship traveled all over our house. Every carpet was a different planet. My aunt brought it back from Germany, if I recall correctly. But the memory is dripping with nostalgia.

"I'm a little unclear as to what the motivation is for both parties." Sir, you need to call your inner child. Why would you need a motivation to catch dinosaurs? Clearly, having them in your possession is worthwhile.

This set is my childhood. Spent so much time modifying and rebuilding it, always coming back to the original design. No other pieces were in my vision as much as these were.

As a fellow Canadian, but born to late to enjoy these sets in my childhood... I have wanted the Tibet sets more than anything since I discovered this old line! As you mentioned there's a colonial overtone, however, I do wish that Lego attempted a similar line in the future; have a gang chase the villain through a number of countries. Then Lego can have reoccuring characters to collect each set... But all as a guise to just have fun and release sets based worldwide, introducing kids to architecture and culture across the globe

This truly was a unique theme! 😊

Speaking of alt builds, there are two new dreams sets which each have 20 builds in total, complete with instructions for each build. Sets 71487 and 71488. They remind me of those old lego "designer" sets (i.e. creator sets before they were called that). Like set 4099 or 4097 for example. They always had tons of different models, both big and small. Maybe they're trying to bring back the alt build spirit... Granted, half of those instructions are digital only, but I'll take what I can get.

I still have a sealed copy of 4099 I’ve been waiting to open! Maybe this summer? 🤔

a while back, I went to a thrift shop and found both sets, 8503 and 8506, they seem to be in good conditions, but the downside is that they don't include their pods and discs

It shouldn’t be too hard to pick up some disks for them off of a site like Bricklink! Most of them are quite inexpensive. 🙂

That's a great set! Hey, with 4 copies, you can make all the alt builds and keep that assembled, and keep the main model assembled, and have one to take apart and put back together, AND one to part out for other things! Because I know you love building your LEGO and just leaving it on display on a shelf!

I always appreciate the rare instances when a minifigure is fully enclosed in an ‘airtight’ cockpit in these old Space sets, so that chest cavity is a big win in my eyes. The legs, however… 😬 Definitely could’ve used some posable joints there.

The star treck segment reminded me of Transformers reviewer The Lazy Eyebrow, who filled his reviews with stop motion of the toys and would often include comedic segments not dissimilar to the one in this video. He is currently on hiatus, and didnt upload all too frequently when he was, but every time he did was always a treat.

That would be fun! Though, it would likely take a significant reworking of how the Eradicator's feet are built... 🤔

The space craft that forms this robot's head, with those wings that can fold up, reminds me SO much of the Hover Pilder from Mazinger Z that I suspect it may have been an inspiration for the set designer. I'd love to see a stop motion recreation of the docking scene from the classic 1970s anime using the Robo Stalker!

Y'know, Slugger, if you perhaps sent me one of those extra Robo Stalkers you have, I certainly wouldn't protest... since surely you don't need them all, right? Jokes aside, great video! I feel like I've really slept on Roboforce, mostly because it's a bit of an oddball compared to the other 90s space themes, but I may have to remedy that soon. Also, love a good TNG reference (and I'm not old)!

lmao at the Encounter at Farpoint + Generations bit. Perfect 5:10 You know what that means! Time to combine all of them into a MEGA MECH like it's Throwbots or something 5:57 Mechs with skates are rad, but if the legs don't move, then it's just a parade float. Lame. 7:05 That is a great alt build. That quasi-remake is pretty cool too.

Slugger, this is entirely unrelated to this video, but I recently got an incredible deal on Facebook Marketplace and I’ve been dying to let you know. I found a listing for a Time Cruisers lot that came with not only the Rocket Racer, Hypno Cruiser, Flying Time Vessel, Whirling Time Warper, and the Twisted Time Train, but all of their original instructions, the tops of the boxes (that I assume the original owner cut off) for all except the Rocket Racer, AND the purple storage tub! And get ready, I got it all for $90 USD after tax and shipping! The sets all together were missing 10 pieces, but otherwise all in good condition. For some reason one of the copies of Tim accidentally had his original torso, ironically, swapped for the torso used for Max Timebuster! I apologize for the unrelated comment, I was just so excited to share.
