Hired a gpx6000 the other week, wow! A stark contrast from a gold monster 1000, I would love to call one my own but they are expensive, and for good reason.

My opinion only, I think the gpx6000 is a waste of money. The gpx5000 is far greater, it will out perform the gpz7000 when modded. I highly recommend the gpz7000 & the gpx5000.

7000s are too heavy and over rated. People in Kalgoorlie are selling them and going back to 4500s and 5000s ( boosted of course ). The 6000 would be great for my grand daughter's and also myself being so light in weight.

I did read a test was done as below Yesterday three of us decided to test the GPX6000 with 11 inch mono, 14 inch DD and 17 inch mono and GPZ7000 with 14 inch stock coil at a local test site that has targets in situ for a number of years. We were particularly interested in the deepest target that was buried at 400mm (about 16 inches) representing a large deep nugget. The 7000 could not detect it in difficult setting only in normal setting - i was told by the owner of the 7000 that normal is not his preferred setting. The 6000 could not detect this deep target with the 11 inch and even the 17 inch (we tried all settings) - but get this - the 14 inch DD with EMI cancel on could hear it as good as (if not better) than the 7000 in normal mode . We were not expecting this result.

@@jenkosgoldadventures you do know that it has 3 sensitivity levels and when it gets noisy, you can put it at the target ground Balance get quiet then ground Balance again. It gets quieter ground Balance again and it’ll only beep when on target on target. You can very easily tune it and 3 sound leaves and more

Just subbed geez you have patience, i looked at gpz7000 video's about 3 years ago and thought theses are to bloody noisy , they haven't changed my wife and kids are quieter. So would a 20 inch mono coil be the go for deeper , bigger gold. Yep minelab over rated this machine yes it's good but the controllers ears have to be on the money listening wise.
