It's a 1948 body but some were titled as 1949s as the new ones weren't ready until March, 1949. Beautiful car !!!

Early falcons were really ugly cars. Cheap economy cars that had nothing else going for them. Finally in 64, they gave it some character.

I drove a white, two-door '61 Ford Falcon from 1965-1968. It was a hand-me-down car from my uncle. Manual transmission, 3-speed on the column. It wasn't that reliable - we had it in the shop a lot, and it finally died with less than 100,000 miles on it. The first Ford Mustangs were built on the Falcon platform.

Still on marketplace ... asking $59,000. Not out of line if you want one of these.... but the 1959 isn't on the top of anyone's list. The 1960 coupes are the ones to have, 300F, boomerang taillights beat all! And any year convertible (but way more money). The internet informs everyone who takes the time to shop... and the most desired cars go nuclear, while everything else becomes lot poison. And this is a boomer fin car. Destined for museums, it's really not for anyone under 50. Way more fun can be had for the money for the younger (and poorer) next gen kids.

IT MAY BE TITLED 1949 BUT, IT IS THE 1948 DESIGN ! 1949 TOTALLY DIFFERENT DESIGN STYLING ! CHRYSLER STYLING FOR THESE CARS ARE FROM 1940 THRU 1948 !
