After the short bursts do 1 long burst that is enough to kill the engine followed by a 10 minute soak, reinstall the air filter and restart engine and use the mower. I do this before I would mow a lawn

Back in the days of Muscle cars most air gaps on points & this style coil was usually just set using a match book or business card. Many points even had notes on back saying use the box/package to set air gap. Most mechs used a card because it worked. Cards easier than using a feeler gauge in many cases because they flex better. Between 8-12k is the actual setting on these small Stihl units. Check the thickness of an average business card or match book you'll see why they always used them. My bil owned a full service shell station over 30yrs back then & they all carried a small card in their front shirt pocket for that reason. It was very common...Its not rocket science after all & why it can be set at 8k, 9k,10,11k,12k or just there abouts & run perfectly fine. That's a big span if you think about it. In fact the OEM Stihl coil I just removed was set at 1k maybe 2k at the most straight from the factory. Idk how it's coil lasted 23yrs set that way but it did. Not my trimmer so idk how hard it was to start but it had to effect it neg some how? Stihl wasn't even close to spec & I know it's never been apart before today, he bought it brand new. Peace

A very technical video . Can I take it that removing the spark plug and earthing it to engine block is not a great way to test the ignition coil . I have a Stihl sh 86 that has a spark at plug and only fires a short moment . The coil is only 12 months old . I would be interested in your thoughts .

Main thing that helps the life of belt is rechecking it after 3 hours of run time and the upgrade pulley kit #126-7890 is worth the price because it’s commercial parts 😊😊

The product arrived undamaged and in a great looking box all parts of the kit were present kzbin.infoUgkx010hhy8hzepHnne4VtzOtUictDZeYMTF and I can't wait to use it. I'm most impressed by the fact that it's a five piece kit, of great monetary value in that you can get this all for such a price. With this my former grip strength will come back and then some. I'm already starting notice a bit of a difference after using it for a bit now, and the stress ball and doughnut shaped grip designed to be carried in the pocket have helped in reducing my stress levels as of late. Would definitely recommend!

WD-40 is not oil, and is not close to being the same as motor oil. WD stands for 'water displacement' which is what WD does well, it does not lubricate the same way oil does, and it evaporates rather quickly. WD is 90% mineral spirits, which is paint thinner or charcoal starter liquid. Gun oils are light oils that do lubricate, and they also come in spray cans. 3-in-1 is a light weight machine oil that can be used when you want some lasting light lubrication.

Hello. Quick question. It’s now late December. I live in upstate New York. I forgot to get the gas out of my push mower. And rider mower. John Deere. What should I do? It’s gonna be in the 50s today. I want to take care of it. I do have fuel stabilizer at home. Thank you so much.
@Goldenwoodz Жыл бұрын
I know this is late, but what I do is add that cleaner stuff that goes into gas to keep the carb system clean, and run the mower until it runs out of gas. That’s the way I’ve done it for decades and each year my mower starts up with one light pull. That way the entire fuel system is coated in the cleaner and fuel and will stay clean and nothing will gum up over winter as long as the carb itself isn’t dirty inside.

I agree with Gregory. The most important finishing step is left out of this video. The blades have to be off set so they don't smash into each other!

I really hate lazy engineering. The previous design allowed you to slip belt past screw post because it tapered at top. The way it is now it's really aggravating to change. I'd really like to express my frustrations with the engineer as I scream trying to fix this. Thanks for the video showing how to go about this.

@officemanager86242 жыл бұрын
@@LemonySnicket-EUC That wasn't the issue; the drive belt brake was easy to move out of way by hand. The timing wheel drive had to be removed as the belt would not squeeze past the screw tower. On model 21200 the screw tower doesn't taper at the top. Had to put one claw of wrench in timing wheel hole with the other claw set against the screw tower to stop it turning while unscrewing the center bolt. Took trial and error to figure how to do it.

I've always just added an ounce of Seafoam to the gas, ran the engine a while so the gas gets thru the carbs, then shut off the gas at the tank and let it run out of gas in the carb so it drains. I make sure the tank is always full if it's a steel tank like a motorcycle. And they always start up like they were just shut down in the spring. I've been doing this for 39 years with not one carb problem and never cleaned a carb since.
@PainterD542 жыл бұрын
I add Seafoam to my gas for my snowblower to keep the carb clean and use it as a fuel stabilizer. That way you never have to clean the carb, ever. And being you don't really know when you're going to be done using your snowblower, you'll already have the fuel treated for the summer months. I do the same in the same with my motorcycles and lawn mower in the summer. I never have carb problems anymore since I treat everything with Seafoam for the past 30 years or so. No more Stabil issues.
