Sir. I appreciate your skill. Just one question, why is your mountain section so small and no access to the back side if the train had issues.
@KevSalRosieАй бұрын
@@KStone-w5n I have a hatch in the middle so I can reach the back end very easily if I have a train issue, and as for my mountain being small, it’s just the size I made it really no other reason. 😁

I thought your little green rejuvenated loco was going to go flying off the track on that tight LH curve, but it stayed put. Well done.

Ingenious. I am an engineer by profession. I should have worked that out. Brilliant "idiot proof" video on curved cork laying !! PS: other people have suggested using a metal drift to assist knocking the track pins in.

Hi Kev. Nice build! Glue squeeze bottle: In addition to cleaning the nozzle, I wonder whether placing the bottle in warm water will soften the plastic and make it easier to squeeze the glue out. This technique may also affect the viscosity of the glue (which way, I'm not sure - but beware in case it makes it thicker!). Underpasses: I know hindsight is a wonderful thing, but I think that modellers need to pre-plan what they might put on their platforms when determining how wide they should be. Unfortunately, if passengers wanted to get around the underpass on Platform 2, they would have difficulty in not falling the platform! (video volume a bit low).

I think we could all agree that finding enough time to spend on the layout can be diffucult with everyday life getting in the way, How annoying you had a shed visitor 🐭 The mouse ate your hill you said it 'cheesed you off' , pun intended surely? ☺️

I don’t think they like cheese as much as everybody thinks, I caught it in a trap by using nugget I got from a Christmas fair 🤣🤣

You fitted the windows two different ways. So should the Gloss side show to the outside or the Matt side? Nice kit and I look forward to part two. Martin. (Thailand)

How would you clean under the tunnel
@KevSalRosie Жыл бұрын
The tunnel, isn’t that big really so you can get in either side. If you need to, I have never really needed to.

Just a shame the Metcalfe buildings look so clean and toy like.
@KevSalRosie Жыл бұрын
I guess they do a bit, but if you take the time to weather them and add a few details they can look great.

Superquick is all about keeping the costs down. Hence the tiny instruction sheets and everything crammed into as few section sheets as possible. The precuts are also badly tooled, hence the difficulty in removal from the sheets. However, Superquick does score highly over metcalfe in detailing. Metcalfe brick and tile work is out of scale and lacks fine details. A perfect model would be Metcalfe build quality and Superquick print.
@monsvillerailways5736 Жыл бұрын
An amazing amount of work has gone into that miniature world. Incredible detail! As you well know, when we build our layouts, we need to do the detailing and then wait for paint and or glue to dry before we move onto the next section. Imagine how much downtime for these things went into that display. 😳 Thanks for sharing this.

Yes, it was one place I really wanted to visit if I ever went to Hamburg and it did not disappoint 👍
@monham5041 Жыл бұрын
If you spray your dry applied ballast with isopropyl alcohol, then apply your glue, it soaks into the ballast easier instead of pooling on the top as it breaks the surface tension.

Those trees look pretty effective!
@diedertspijkerboer Жыл бұрын
I'm wondering if you can glue up the trees by dipping them into diluted glue mixture. A quick alternative would be spray glue.
@diedertspijkerboer Жыл бұрын
When I made such hedges, I first painted the pad brown, to suggest branches. I also experimented with short pieces of teased out twine to suggest twigs sticking out.
@diedertspijkerboer Жыл бұрын
A less messy way to do the hedges is to pin the strips scouring padonto a plank or polystyrene, spray the with glue and then scatter the foliage over it. You can easily make a spray booth for this from a cardboard box.

HI mate use copydex! its faster too.. use the brush in bottle and apply it along the cork underneath and leave it to go tacky (10 minutes) then carefully stick it down on the planned layout ( i use the width of the track including points etc with a pencil outline ) and cut out the cork to suit its easier and a bit time consuming but hey its a hobby aint it!

How are you connecting the midi keyboard to the iPad though? Or am I missing the point? 😂
@KevSalRosie2 жыл бұрын
When you create the midi track you are telling Cubase to use all midi inputs to ipad, That’s the part that makes the keyboard play the iPad. So if it was set up the way I explained it should work. If it’s not working for you then make sure that whatever synth you are using on your iPad has in its MIDI settings IDAM MIDI host ticked. Hope this will help you. Cheers 👍

Thank you for this useful vid. May I ask: a) Where did you store your suitcases? b) Is there room under the beds? c) what is the AC like, does it get "stuffy", and what about the noise level i.e from corridor or telly next door? Sorry for the many questions; just really excited about our plan to book Iona to see the Norwegian Fjords. :)

Hi, you can store your Suitcases under the bed. There’s plenty of room under there. 👍
