What do u do for the sides???

Idk if youll see this now, but i have a question. I'm new to resin top coats, and it either pulls down the sides, or pulls the the center. The edges end up with no resin. Or, I'll have a random divot (hole/dip) or two. Any iformation would be appreciated 🙏🏻

To add, I make sure the canvas is level. I continuously wipe the sides. But I always end up with the edges/partial edges lacking resin. It just seems to pull no matter what I do lol. I almost thought about mixing it, and letting it harden for just a few minutes. Just enough that it isn't so runny?

I let it dry and come back to it with more resin and try my best to fill in the spots without adding to the top more…it ends up working pretty god

I have a tray and it has a small indentation by the handle. After the first layer and it cured overnight I used UV resin to attach the handles. Can I use UV resin to fix this small spot or do I have to resin over the whole piece? If I have to resin it again, do I need to sand before doing another layer of resin?

I'm so sorry to hear! Here are my tips: -make sure you're using a resin that is for top-coating (these resins are usually a 1:1 ratio, and very thick!) -craters can happen if there is something on the canvas, which you can avoid by sealing the canvas first OR it could mean your space is too humid. make sure it's not above 70% humidity before pouring to be safe.

glad I could help! There's a lot of ways to top-coat, ad the reason I smeared this one is because I was working on canvas - too much resin and it can warp the framing or create a sag in the centre.
