Hi Darren, Livingpod Lite 2 also fits the Tentbox Lite 1 The livingpod is backward compatible , 2 things to modify, 1 add clips to where the hooks are, 18mm bar clips with 3inch straps that attach to the bar on the flysheet of the Tentbox Lite 1. 2, add straps to each side about 7 to 8 inches further back this will allow the cover to attach to the livingpod, plus I've added a bungee cord to each corner eyelet and attached it to the guy line tabs. 3 you can also install the back cover to the Lite 1 but also you can leave it off, as myself and my girlfriend we did the Dolomites and Lake Garda plus Lake Annecy, 3 week trip using the livingpod.. if you don't use the back panel, you can create an even bigger area, by not using it... 4, if you enter a full blown tornado 🌪️ like we did at the lake front of lake Garda, then invert your telescopic poles, use the base of the poles, and tucked them under each corner of the cross pole, this will stop the livingpod from caving in 👍😉 5, as with Chris we use it for toilet plus cooking sometimes, I use a light from Amazon that has a remote and has 5 different colour modes 😉 works a treat. Ok so the livingpod will fit the Tentbox Lite 1 with the 2 modifications, it's just a pity Tentbox won't listen as I've shown them pics and vids ... Helps if you can think out of the box 👍😉

Thanks for posting this. I live in Florida and rent is getting so expensive I'm seriously thinking of either converting the inside of my car into a camper or getting a tentbox. Thanks also for mentioning about holding up in windy weather as the official is 39 Mph which isn't a lot for Florida but it is Gale force 7/8 I can see it held up nicely for 2 years. My only concern is where to put the solar panels?
@darrenclarke485916 күн бұрын
@John-wp1rw I have Jackery solor panels which just sit on the ground.

Can I ask, how often did you keep it on your car over those 2 years (ie did you only put it on for trips or leave it attached for most of the 2 years)? If you left it attached, was your car generally parked in the open air/not a garage? I’m trying to work out how durable it is if it’s relatively permanently left on a car!
@darrenclarke4859Ай бұрын
Hi, thanks for watching, coincidentally I have taken it off the car today for the first time in 18 months as I'm going on a long journey tomorrow and want to increase my fuel economy. Apart from the writing on the cover fading, everything is still great.

@darrenclarke48593 ай бұрын
The tentbox has been very good in high winds, 2 years ago we were camping on Shell Island with about 10 other tentboxers and a few ground tents, a big storm came in , all the tentboxes survived unscathed, but my kids dome tent was destroyed ( they slept in the car in the end) Numerous other ground tents also got annihilated. Our awnings had to be put away before the storm as they wouldn't have survived either. Also we have camped in sub zero conditions, new year in the Highlands of Scotland. I have a KZbin video showing that.

Just read the long list of 1 star reviews online about this tin-pot company before buying.. I wish I had before clicking the payment button. an absolute shambles of a company, the staff can't even use a phone or keyboard to reply back to your messages. When they do it's just excuse after excuse. It's that much of a tin-pot company they don't have a telephone number that works, only messaging service that they don't reply too. Expect to wait over a week for delivery when they claim it's "in stock". In stock to them is on a boat somewhere from China. It's a budget company with a budget product run on a shoe-string budget, with staff that just laugh at you when they have your money. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy, in fact il be warning everyone I know and everyone I come across to Avoid Avoid AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.!.

Looks fantastic we currently go camping in our air tent and have done for a good few years I want a tent box but the wife wants a small caravan she says it’s the daytime when it rains that puts her off the tent box idea 😊 we just can’t afford both thanks any advice please
@darrenclarke48593 ай бұрын
Well as you can see we have both, additional to our tentbox we have an awning with an awning room which we can cook and chill out in. The caravan offers us a different dynamic to our outdoor experience, extra comfort, warmth and luxury. We love both. Thanks for watching .

The awning was a game changer, I've seen and been in the living pods and yes they look nice, but not as practical as an awning room.

Is your car a Dacia Logan? I'm going to buy a tentbox in the sale this week and my car is a Logan, have you found it massively affects the handing/fuel consumption when the tentbox is on?

I get around 42mph around town and about 47 to 50 on a long run. Mine is the petrol version. It's a very good car, loads of room, cheap to run .

Are they well secured so they can’t be stolen if your off hiking??
@darrenclarke48598 ай бұрын
Yes it's bolted to the roofrack, and the roofrack is locked. It would be easier to steal a ground tent.

Hi Darren, how are you? I was firstly attracted to your channel by your tentbox then discovered you had a heart attack. I had a heart attack when I was 43, 54 now, took about a year to get me sorted out ending in a double bypass. I got back to work 2 years after bypass and never really give it a second thought now, life goes on. Getting back to your tentbox, I want one, maybe next year.

Very tidy mate! Just curious does it affect the range much being on an electric car? I have my lite on a Mondeo and it's pretty negligible the effect on mpg and overall driving
@darrenclarke48592 жыл бұрын
I've only had it on for 1 day, I haven't noticed a massive difference but I'm sure it will affect it, I only do short distances so it suits me. I live on the North East Coast so when I do take it out I can just skirt around the coast line and discover new places without driving large distances in one go.

What about when it’s windy up there Darren? Thinking about the natural sway of a car in wind.

Apparently they are very stable. As the car is electric it has a very low center of gravity with the batteries along the floor.
