Question for you.. when you go to places like Playmakers are you free to just grab a seat and get drinks and play card games with the kids or do you feel like you have to get food or do you need to wait to be seated? Just curious how the vibe is. We will definitely be brining Uno and Skipbo (and cribbage for me and my husband if the kids go to the kids club) 😊

@@AmandaLander I don’t recall having to wait to be seated at playmakers. I’ll say this about camping out there to play games, I would just be mindful of the crowd. If it’s super crowded and busy with sports stuff I would encourage you to either purchase some food or beverage while you play or find another space. I feel like that’s the most considerate thing to do. (I don’t think food is necessary, I think getting drinks is fine)

@@AmandaLander I’ll echo my hubby about being mindful of the crowd. That’s why often times we play in the Schooner Bar or even the pub or other random venues that might not be being utilized. But most of the times a bar so we can all have a drink while we play 😊

@ correct. Guest services on the first day is INSANE. When you board head to Boleros. They will also have people on the promenade who are there just to help give directions in case the wow bands aren’t in Boleros, so you won’t need to go to guest services.

@ glad to be helpful. It’s exactly why we make the videos! Walking around the pool deck without shoes is totally normal. I would wear the water shoes to Coco cay if you’re doing beach activities.

They took great care of the beach, for it being the heavy seaweed (sargassum) season it was indeed super nice. I was pleasantly surprised with the excursion!

Thanks for the vlog. Heading on the Gem for two weeks over the holiday with my wife and kids. Nice to see that they start having entertainment the first day. Looks like you had a great day! We are going on our first cruise next May on Symphony! My girls will be 11 & 9 then. Curious if you do the refreshment package for the kids? I didn’t think of it before but I noticed there are options for frozen drinks ( mocktails) they would probably love!

@@AmandaLander thanks for watching!!! We do get them the refreshment package. I make sure to try to get it when they have a discount of at least 30%, and better if it’s 35%😂. After I buy it I still check about once a week because if you see it for a lower price you can cancel your order and reorder it at the lower price! Our kiddos love the mocktails, especially the virgin Miami Vice!

@@SchoonerBears Thank you! I have been keeping my eye out for deals. I figured it’s easier to just have it all paid for ahead of time and then no stress of seeing a bill at the end of the trip 😂 my husband and I are definitely getting the Deluxe package so the kids deserve a treat too! ☺️

@@AmandaLander it’s a vacation, right! A lil’ splurge. Besides, it’s not just the mocktails. It’s juice at breakfast, bottles of water, kids coffee (decaf of course). My kids certainly drink their monies worth😂

We're a family of five as well. I'm curious to know how you are booking your cruises? I've never been able to do it online unless it's four passengers. Are you booking with the cruise companies direct?

Hey! Thanks for the comment and for watching! We do book directly through Royal Caribbean by calling when we have been all 5 in one room. There are only certain rooms that fit 5 and you can’t do it online. This next cruise we take with all of us in the fall, we booked two rooms and could book those online.
