Hi Chris - great videos! Just bought Pete's boat off him so watching with interest (last sailed an IC nearly quarter of a century ago..). Can I ask - what size spinnaker are you flying?
@Chris.Dyulgerov-Duffin3 ай бұрын
@@ChrisHodkinson congratulations on the purchase. Where abouts you based? You'll have to join the what's app group an keep intouch with everyone, we all try to help out as much as possible. The black an white is 23m and the white an black is 21. I do have a 17m but not used it yet. Loads of videos on the channel for you to watch. James also has a few videos too. Good luck man. Will be intouch 👍

It gets choppy in Southampton water, especially with wind against tide. Looks like you had some fun in the early upwind leg.

Good clip and a very good gybe with the kite. I got out about the time that kites came in and the class rules changed. Very tough boat to sail well. I remember a race on the open ocean where I stopped counting after 12 capsizes and there were plenty more but very easy to get up again. Thank you for the memories.

@@hamishurquhart5577 It's quite an early video with lots of swimming lessons included 😀 I'd definitely say my gybing has improved. Sailing and owning a Canoe was a childhood dream of mine. Absolutely love it. ❤️

That 3 sail reach sure looks fun. But to quote Danny Glover "I'm too old for this sh*t". Man you must be on it all the time, no chance for a breather or you are in the water.

@@BM-dx1mg no, I leaned in to go over the mark but the carriage slipped down. Close though 😀

Great to watch. Are you lapping other boats? There can’t be many classes where boats get lapped in Open Meetings!
@Chris.Dyulgerov-Duffin7 ай бұрын
Unfortunately not lapping, I was keeping up with the better sailors 😊 Tough work out there.

my dad and his brother used to sail a 505 and a merlin rocket both at that club and the one down the bottom by vospers they both died quite a long time ago but both of them would have loved to see that video

That's such a cool boat, I was amazed at how it dealt with the waves downwind, a few times there I thought you were in for a nosedive!
@Chris.Dyulgerov-Duffin11 ай бұрын
A pitch pole will happen, but the boat powered through the waves pretty well. Just a handful trying to turn it! Only the 3rd or 4th time out, much to learn. 👍
@TomStuchberySailing11 ай бұрын
You’re doing well considering you’ve only sailed it a few times! Does it have a t foil on the rudder?
@Chris.Dyulgerov-Duffin11 ай бұрын
@@TomStuchberySailing Hopefully after a few more sessions I'll start to improve. Got a few events lined up this year so I need the practice. It's fun to see footage afterwards. No t-foil but I think the new rules IC design have stated using them.
@TomStuchberySailing11 ай бұрын
Awesome, yes, having footage to analyze later makes it so much easier to learn!

Hi @vincea1401 I was about 80-90Kgs, and only sailed the boat in 10knts of breeze.
