Just bought these shocks for my defender, you would think for the price Zbroz could include the allen key and bar to adjust the preload. Other then that the shocks are worth the upgrade.

Are the springs the same for smart shock and non smart shock?
@NathanKelderman3 ай бұрын
Key part about this on a razor specifically is that you can only adjust the preload spring about an inch per the owners manual recommendation. If you go higher or lower than their recommended measurement, you could damage your U joints in the drivetrain. The higher you make it you’re changing the geometry for for the driveshaft’s going to each wheel and you change it too much. You could wreck a lot of stuff underneath there. I just raised mine an inch and maxed it out since it was sitting kind of low And I think I need new springs since it’s a 2012.

@Mowk86 awesome. That's great to hear. I just finished up putting my buggy back together. I did new a arem bushing, UHMW. Also, I put a new steering rack and tie rods, boss 2.0 . And new tires. I'm planning a Colorado Utah trip coming up. I noticed the front a arm bushings are under sized. They have been my biggest problem with the machine. But I do have almost 10 thousand on mine. Keep them greased. That's about the best you can do. Good luck to you and your machine. And tread lightly.

Yes, but be careful when making your selection. We have 2 different 2" lifts for the Defender. Make sure you are getting the 2023 model, not the 2022 and older model. Both are on our site right now, or you can reach out to a local Zbroz dealer.

with progressive tender needs to match the lower spring rate ?
@zbroz_racing Жыл бұрын
What we mean by progressive is that this tender spring is not a single rate coil like the main. The tender shouldn’t be. The tender and main work in combination with each other and generally they are different rates. The top of this tender spring has a lower coil rate than the bottom of it. Meaning soft to hard on the same spring. That’s why we call it a progressive tender. The rate changes throughout the tender spring. Example: Might start out as a 400lb but after the first inch increase to 600 or 800lbs per inch.

I wondered, I was worried about that when I received my spring kit for the 2022 Pro XP4. Still not 100% sure how it works, all I know is I don’t bottom out like before and it’s a decent ride. I feel like the small washboard bumps I feel more than before, but I also bumped my wheel and tire size to 15/32” with Tensor Regulator’s and they are a much harder and heavier tire that stock 30”. It felt much better with the stock tires for sure. I ride on trails and washes in AZ it gets rough! Any suggestions would be much appreciated. I just had my Oil and pistons changed on the Walkers. Thought about going with the stage 3 kit but no one in my area was certified for Zbros kit installs. I went with a local that does great work, and ordered the new pistons from Walker for my shocks. Everyone that see’s the Zbros spring kit says the tender spring is collapsed lol and I say that’s the way they’re designed so thanks for the explanation video.
@zbroz_racing Жыл бұрын
For the Walkers, we suggest checking your ride hight to make sure your car is where you need it to be. If your pre load is too stiff or too lose, that can effect it. Another thing would be to play with your crossover. Also, opening up your shock valve. If you want a more detailed explanation or need help with anything else. Please contact our customer service, they can help walk you though it all.
@bobfisher9452 Жыл бұрын
Thanks! The Pro XP did not come with crossovers in the front. Only backs came with crossovers. I was thinking about your X-Shocks to purchase for the front. Are those as good as the Fox RC2’s from Shock Therapy? And what’s your thoughts about just replacing the front?

What about going to a single spring in the front? I've seen several people wear out shock bodies due to the spring divider.
@zbroz_racing Жыл бұрын
It's true, if you don't line up the spring ends and maintain prober cleaning that can happen. We run a duel rate for the sake of tuning options. A duel rate includes a cross over ring which allows you to set where the springs compression cross over and ramps into the other spring.

So what are you supposed to do if you can't get the lower press-fit mount off for the life of you? I've been trying for a day now to get the stock spindles separated from the Zbroz 34" a-arms so I can put the lift spindles on and no luck at all :(

do you see a big difference in the ride stiffness or is it just a minor difference
@zbroz_racing Жыл бұрын
Minor differences. The ride quality should reflect the shocks your have on your ride. So stock shocks, stock ride quality. We recommend our in-house brand of EXIT shocks, as they are more adjustment options.

How easy is it to disconnect the harness to remove the seats? This always seems to be a huge issue.
@zbroz_racing Жыл бұрын
I'm not sure I understand what your asking. But you can leave your harness connected and remove the seat. Depending on seat design, just take the shoulder straps and or the lower strap out the seat and then take the seat out because the harness is mounted to the frame of the vehicle. Depending on the seat you have, some will be more difficult than others. I hope this helps answer your question.

Depending on the size of your tire you can get zero to one inch of clearance. The larger the tire, the less clearance you get from our arm over stock. The smaller the tire the more our arm will help with clearance.
