Brilliant video Sarah, those stations do look nice, CrossCountry did call at Audley End on the Birmingham to Stanstead Airport service before that virus wrecked havoc. Also don't even get me started on CrossCountry train formations lol.

Cool video. Regardigg the racedays at Newmarket; there are no specials run on racedays, in fact if they could the jockey club etal would have the railway removed from the town if they could - cant be having all that noise disturbing theor precious horses. You are not the first to be severely underwhelmed by Newmarket station either, most people are. The town it self is tiny and full of jockeys, racing staff, alcoholics, drug dealers, druggies, and the occasional decent human.. ok i am exaggerating a little but its not pretty at all, not like it used to be and at night it sometimes isnt very safe to be in - especially on race days. I like dullingham station, its pretty and surprisingly busy for how small it is and how far away from anywhere it is, and by the way, what on earth did you do the whole time you were there 🤣 I would suggest you come to Soham but you would be stuck here for at least an hour, depending on the time and there isnt much to do here 😅 Keep uo the good work 😊

Went to Audley End House earlier in the year, highly recommended.

Just before the class 720s were introduced by Greater Anglia, they had a consultation period and one of the points I raised was about the lack of padding in the seats! Although, to be fair, I actually find them to be quite comfortable on my daily commute. I find the seats on the class 745 much more uncomfortable, simply because the seat backs are so tall (at least for me).

There used to be a Ciba-Geigy chemical works at Great Chesterford. I had a job interview there in the 1980s. Back then the train ftom Cambridge was a rattling Class 105. Ciba Geigy had a private siding for delivery of chemical raw materials. Anyway I didn’t get the job. I guess the works closed as I didn't see any sign of it in your film.

Sarah behind your left shoulder, in the view of you at the London End of the Up Platform, you can see a brick building with white weatherboards on the roof, in the station car park. This is the original waiting shelter for Platform 3 (the branch line to Bartlow Junction). I have actually walked the trackbed from Ashdon to Bartlow Junction, when the Signalbox at Bartlow Junction was still there. You could climb the Signalbox. Done it ! The second footbridge, is the older one.

When you was at Derby Road station, did you notice the lovely new green pedestrian bridge, that's been closed, since it was completed. Keep the videos coming, great content.

Lavenham way is superb as a cycle route out of the city. With the bonus of being flat like the railway that preceded it.

I be surprised when the new Cambridge South railway station is to open next year. I haven’t been to Whittlesford Parkway before.

I was on that line this week - quite pleasant actually all the way to and from Burnham on Crouch.

The Black and white photo shows the Level Crossing which was replaced by the A505. My Uncle also used to stay on Station Road (North)

Mwlron used to be busy with a fairly large goods yard

Fantastic video Sarah and really good research into the stations history. I also love the humility you show by not only acknowledging but being totally up front about your mistake. There are some good tea rooms in Battlesbridge, my favourite is Drakes Tea Rooms which is about ten minutes walk from the station and is on a converted RCL (Routemaster) bus.

That was another superb video Sarah. Looked like a bit of a dreich day so thanks for braving it. IWM Duxford is a special place for me. The chapel was simply stunning.

I visited the Gainsborough line yesterday and was so fascinated to learn that there was a railway museum located around Chappel and Wakes Colne station
