Thanks for sharing. What is making you have second thoughts? Is it the drugs, crime and property theft that you are referring to? What area of WA were you considering moving to? Each area is going to have different statistics. Olympia is actually quite low compared to other areas. You can use the following link to look up statistics on different areas. My suggestion to people is to always look at the stats in the city you are currently living in or another city that you feel comfortable in, then you can make a good comparison of different cities. Sometimes the stats can make things look worse that they are but when you compare the cities with each other it give a better perspective. Hope that helps! Hi @erome1488 that's a good question. Our home owners insurance here is not as high as states that have a lot of natural disasters like Texas, Florida and CA. I don't know how our gas would compare to SoCal. We don't have state income tax so that is a bonus. The sales tax varies by city, with Seattle's being the highest. Olympia's is 9.8. Property taxes also vary by area and school district. The median property tax rate in Olympia, is 0.97%, which is slightly below the national median of 0.99%.Hope that helps!

That statistic is very interesting. As an Olympia resident we can say that we feel very safe here and haven't experienced any crime. My suggestion would be to look up another city that you are familiar with or that you live in and see how it looks on the crime scale compared to the national average. For instance when I look up other areas around Olympia, we are much lower.

@@thelivewellhomegroup numbers, until recently don’t lie. But it is a beautiful town. I love washington spent a couple three years in the Vancouver area but traveled all over to Seattle mostly for the Navy. As they say, I’ll be back!
